FAQs

Question

What in the world is Playbowl?

Answer

Playbowl is an old growth Redwood Grove in Nate’s hometown where we would often go on walks when we were first getting to know each other. We’re delighted to hold our wedding ceremony here now!

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

At the La Honda Lake, which is at the intersection of Entrada Way and Laguna Dr. Typing the following into your GPS will get you there: 90 Laguna Dr, La Honda CA 94020. We’ll also have signs out to help guide you...not that you’ll need much guiding, La Honda only has about 700 people!

Question

What will we be eating?

Answer

A roast pig! Other stuff too of course...chicken, corn, potato salad, green salads, and a variety of finger foods. And of course cake!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It should be a warm summer day, but as we’ll be under redwoods you may want to bring a sweater since it can be a little cooler under the giants.

Question

Where can I stay nearby?

Answer

Well, unfortunately there aren’t a lot of options...La Honda is a rural coastal town. Half Moon Bay is 30 min away and Redwood City is 45 min away. There are numerous camping options closer. AirBnB has some availability nearby as well.

Question

Will it be muddy?

Answer

No, but we will be dancing on the dirt. :)

Question

Are dogs allowed?

Answer

Yes! Of course use your judgement about whether they are okay with other dogs, crowds, and loud noises.

Question

Wait, September 8 of THIS year? 2018?

Answer

Yep! Sorry for the late notice ya’all. We really hope you can still make it!

Question

Wait so if we aren’t parking at Playbowl, how are we getting there?

Answer

Great question! By foot. It’s a short and beautiful walk from the lake to the Bowl, usually 3-5 minutes. For those with difficulty walking, please let us know ahead of time and we will arrange for someone to shuttle you down.

Question

The ceremony is at 1....so when are we eating dinner?

Answer

Basically whenever you want. We’ll start serving food around 2:30 — Just eat when you’re hungry! We aren’t the most traditional or formal people, and this won’t be the most traditional or formal wedding.
