Question

Where should I stay while I am on the island?

Answer

Our wedding planner has suggested that everyone stay on the northeast side of St. Thomas. This is where the majority of the resorts and vacation homes are located, and is where our wedding ceremony and reception will be held.

Question

Is there going to be a reception?

Answer

Yes. A reception dinner at the Sunset Grille will be held directly following our ceremony at Secret Harbor. Sunset Grille is just a short walk up the beach from our ceremony location (about 200 feet to be exact).

Question

How should I dress?

Answer

Please dress in comfortable attire for our beach wedding. We are going to be directly on the beach for the ceremony, and will be walking up the beach to our reception dinner. Ladies-please do not wear heels or long dresses-unless you really want to! Shoes are not required :) We want everyone to enjoy themselves and be comfortable.

Question

How long will the ceremony and dinner last?

Answer

Our ceremony will be relatively short-about 10-15 minutes. We will then be taking pictures and our dinner is scheduled to begin around 5:30 PM. We are not having a full reception with dancing and other typical wedding events, so there will be plenty of time for socializing and cake, of course!

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

This really depends on how long you plan on staying, and how many people you have with you. St. Thomas has open-air taxis that travel all over the island 24 hours per-day. Each taxi ride generally costs $3-$4 per person, per ride, depending on where you are going. If you have an entire family with you, this could add up pretty quickly. If you are just coming by yourself, this may be the most affordable way to go! If you are traveling with children, and plan on staying several days, our wedding planner definitely suggests that you rent a car-for all of the reasons stated above. St. Thomas does NOT have Uber or other car services that we have available in the states. Car rental services are available at multiple locations across the island. Please also keep in mind that in St. Thomas they drive on the other side of the road!

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

No. St. Thomas is U.S. territory-therefore you do NOT need a passport. However, if you have a passport, it's always a great idea to bring one since it is an excellent form of identification when traveling.

For all the days along the way
