Nathan and Kate met during their first field season at the Great Basin Institute on their very first day. In a PowerPoint presentation of introductions, they each included photos of skiing. Mid intro-slide, one turned to the other and said, “You ski?” That very weekend, they went on their first backcountry ski together. Some skiing happened (and I won’t name names, but some somersaulting happened as well), and from that point on they were pretty much inseparable. What began as a strong and silly friendship very quickly turned into love. After many ski descents, Monty Python viewings, numerous quesadillas, and enough Miller Lites to tame an ocelot (though one was not available for testing), it was decided that nuptials shall follow.
