The Museo de Antioquia was the first museum established in the region, and the second in the nation. It’s the headquarters of art in Medellin, and showcases the works of local heroes like Botero, while also using historical and contemporary art to examine what exactly makes Medellin and Colombia tick.
The botanic gardens cover 14 hectares, showcase 600 species of trees and plants, and include a lake, a herbarium and a butterfly enclosure.
Medellin has so many upscale restaurants.... for cheap! Take advantage and eat as much as you can. I am talking about a Tomahawk Steak for like $20. Craft burgers and sushi is our go to.
Cartagena is another popular/touristy city in Colombia. Relax at the beach and the old colorful town for a couple of days. Round trip flights to Cartagena from Medellin are around $60.
