Question

What are Colombia's COVID-19 entry requirements?

Answer

Foreign travelers must present proof they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for at least 14 days prior to travel. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card at both airline check-in and when passing through Colombian Immigration. As the situation evolves, please visit https://co.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ for the latest vaccination and entry requirements.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

In the hopes that you can fully partake in the lively natural of this celebration, we have chosen for our Welcome Cocktail and Wedding Day to be adult-only occasions. If you do choose to bring your children for the weekend, hotels and other accommodations can provide bi-lingual, affordable, and safe child care.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Daily high temperatures are around 87°F, rarely falling below 84°F or exceeding 89°F. January is a very breezy time of year, making evenings and nights very comfortable.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Many foreign travelers opt to stay in the Old Town, otherwise known as the Walled City, which is a great base for exploring the best this city has to offer. The Old Town has accommodations to fit all budgets, ranging from condos, boutique hotels, and luxury casas.

Question

How far is the Walled City/ Old Town from the airport?

Answer

Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) serves Cartegena. It is well-served by airlines flying in from the eastern part of the United States. The airport is just 4 miles northwest of the Old Town. Guest can take a quick taxi or Uber from the airport. Some hotels may also offer transportation, so be sure to ask prior to your arrival.

Question

Do I need to bring Colombian Pesos?

Answer

Most shops and restaurants accept credit cards, however it is also a good idea to keep small cash on hand for taxi rides and street snacks. Banks offers the best exchange rates while the rates at the airport are generally less attractive. We recommend ordering Colombian pesos from your local bank prior to your trip.

Question

Where should we eat in Cartagena?

Answer

Filled with fresh seafood, traditional street food, and chic rooftops, Cartagena is the ideal city for one to embark on a culinary journey. The restaurants listed here will provide a great starting point: https://www.eater.com/maps/best-restaurants-cartagena-colombia

Question

Is the tap water safe to drink in Cartagena?

Answer

When traveling to a country where guests are not accustomed to the local water, it is best to err on the side of caution. Please order bottled water at restaurants and be cautious when ordering fruit that may have been washed with tap water. Colombia's natural juices and smoothies are a must, but try and stick to ones made with filtered water.

Question

What should I pack for my trip?

Answer

Aside from the attire you will wear to the Welcome Cocktail and Wedding, we recommend packing comfortable, lightweight clothes. The streets are made of cobblestone and the city is very walkable, so be sure to bring comfortable shoes. You will also want to pack a swim suit and plenty of sunscreen, in case you wish to enjoy the local beaches and islands. You will not need a visa nor power adaptor, but be sure to bring your passport! Because anything can happen, we also recommend purchasing traveler's insurance prior to your trip. Allianz and Travelex both offer great coverage for foreign travelers.

Answer

1. St. Dom - department store 3. Agua Bendita - women's swimwear 5. Azulu - women's clothing 6. Malva - department store 4. Maaji Cartagena - women's swimwear GuanaBanana 2. Ancora Cartagena - swimwear 7. Silvia Tcherassi 8. Vilebrequin - men's swimwear 9. La Serrezula - mall in old city
