Weather
At 7,350 ft—higher than Denver—Mexico City’s altitude keeps temperatures pleasant, though you may feel the effects of elevation. In May, expect spring-like weather with highs near 80°F and cool nights around 56°F with the possibility of afternoon sprinkles. But don’t worry, the wedding venue is tented!
Parque México
This is a mandatory visit! At just a 7 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel, you must stroll around this park at least once to see the beautiful landscaping, water features and colorful vendors. This park is surrounded by cute cafes, art galleries, and restaurants and is an excellent way to get a taste of our favorite Condesa neighborhood. If you're looking for a coffee, meal, or churro (check out El Moro, the Churreria!) this is a fantastic place to start.
Museo Nacional de Antropología
Discover the rich cultural heritage of Mexico at this iconic museum, home to an unparalleled collection of artifacts from ancient civilizations like the Maya and Aztec. Order tickets in advance to skip the lines - it's a very large museum and comes highly recommended as a favorite! The museum is a 12 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel, located in the Polano neighborhood.
Museo de Arte Moderno
Nestled in the heart of Chapultepec Park, the Museo de Arte Moderno celebrates 20th-century Mexican art with masterpieces by iconic artists like Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Rufino Tamayo. Its stunning sculpture garden and rotating exhibitions make it a haven for art enthusiasts. The museum is about a 12 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel and right next to the Museum of Anthropology.
Casa Estudio Luis Barragán
Luis Barragan is regarded as the most prominent figure in modern Mexican architecture, his work having a major influence on contemporary architecture. This museum, which encloses its creator’s residency and studio is the only individual building in Latin is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We recommend booking tickets in advance, and the museum is located a 12 minute drive away from the Andaz Hotel.
Frida Kahlo Museum
The Frida Kahlo Museum is located in Coyoacan, an area of Mexico City that is located about a 25 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel. Coyoacan is a small, colorful, artisanal part of the city with a local art market in the center. This is also the part of the city where our venue is located! Be sure to make reservations to visit the museum in advance - they sell out quickly.
Museo Anahuacalli
Museo Anahuacalli is a museum in Mexico dedicated to Mexican art, designed by Diego Rivera as an architectural piece that unites past, present, and future with nature. The museum is a 25 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel.
Pujol (Restaurant)
2-Michelin Star restaurant located in the Polanco neighborhood, a 20 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel, known for their traditional Mexican cuisine and mole.
Contramar (Restaurant)
A delicious and well known seafood spot - great for brunch and a very pleasant 20 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel. The tuna tostadas are a must order!
Choza (Restaurant & Listening Bar)
A Thai-influenced restaurant and listening bar that comes highly recommended by a local. Vibe is for drinking cold beer, eating with your hands, and listening to vinyls. You won’t find it on Google - it’s walk-in only and open on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 3-9pm. Just show up, knock on the door, and prepare to wait an hour - but it is worth it! One of the best meals we've had here if you enjoy spicy food. Choza is a 6 minute drive and a 15 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel.
Restaurante Rosetta
Rosetta is a one Michelin star Mexican restaurant, known for seasonal ingredients sourced from small producers, with an amazing on-site bakery. Rosetta is a 10 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel.
Ling Ling by Hakkasan (Restaurant)
Situated on the 56th floor of one of the area's tallest skyscrapers, located just above the Ritz-Carlton. Serving asian-fusion bites and sushi, consider booking reservations at sunset to see the insane views of the city! Ling Ling is a 10 minute drive and 34 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel, near the Polanco neighborhood.
Botánico (Restaurant)
Botánico is a picturesque Condesa spot with a rotating menu of seasonal plates. A great lunch spot very walkable to the Andaz Hotel. The space is so cool - live cacti and plants growing everywhere! Botanico is an 8 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel.
Taquería Orinoco
We've heard rave reviews of the tacos here - specifically the Al Pastor! A great late night or lunch counter-service spot. The Condesa location is a 17 minute walk or a 6 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel.
Taquería Los Parados
We visited this taqueria while on a local taco tour and were very impressed - try the "volcan" style if you are a cheese lover! Good for a quick bite while on-the-go. This taqueria is a 15 minute walk and a 4 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel.
El Califa de León (Taco Stand)
The very first Mexican taco stand to earn a Michelin star with only 4 items on its menu - while we haven't been here yet we have heard great things! Located about a 15 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel near the Centro Historic District, this could be a good stop if you plan to visit this area to check out the historic buildings.

Looking to get to know the city's local culinary scene? Check out a tour by Devoured - local tour guides walk you through a variety of taco stands, food vendors, and beverage tastings! We thoroughly enjoyed the "Eat Up / Drink Up" walking tour. Group bookings are for a max of 8 people, but you can reach out to create a custom tour - grab a group and explore!
MisMezcales
Looking to learn about Mexico City's trademark drink - mezcal? Visit MisMezcales, a local Mezcal shop carrying truly artisanal and high-end brands that can be difficult to come by outside of Oaxaca (the producing region of most mezcal). While there are a few dozen major commercial brands, MisMezcales only buys from small producers that grow, process and sell their own mezcal. We did a tasting here and it was fantastic - we learned so much! The shop is a 6 minute drive and a 13 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel.
Handshake Speakeasy (Bar)
Voted 2024's "Best Bar in the World" - Handshake Speakeasy is a hidden bar with a 1920s Prohibition theme located in Mexico City’s Colonia Juárez neighbourhood. A velvet-lined, Art Deco enclave with an on-site laboratory and cocktails derived from advanced culinary techniques. Handshake Speakeasy is a 15 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel, and reservations are accepted up to 3 weeks in advance.
Supra Roma Rooftop (Bar & Restaurant)
A vibey bar & restaurant with 360 degree views - great food (the small bites were amazing) and ambience. A fun spot to check out DJ sets, hookah, and cocktails with a view. Supra Roma is a 9 minute drive and 22 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel.
Salón Palomilla (Bar)
A brand new cocktail bar hidden behind the kitchen of Paramo (a great taco spot in town, btw) - loved the vibe! Moody decor with great cocktails and sliders for a delicious late night bite. The roof of the bar slides open to reveal the night sky during evenings, with a DJ set on rotation. Salón Palomilla is a 6 minute drive and 17 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel.
Licorería Limantour (Bar)
Licorería Limantour, a world-renowned cocktail bar in Mexico City ("#32 Best Bar in the World") is celebrated for its inventive drinks and chic atmosphere. Located in the trendy Roma neighborhood, it’s a must-visit spot for craft cocktail enthusiasts. The bar is located a 6 minute drive and a 25 minute walk from the Andaz Hotel.
El Bazar Sábado (Saturday Market)
Bazaar Sábado is a vibrant weekly Saturday market that showcases the best of Mexican art, crafts, and design. Held in the charming San Ángel neighborhood, it’s perfect for unique finds, delicious food, and a lively cultural atmosphere. The Bazaar is about a 20-25 minute drive from the Andaz Hotel.
Teotihuacán (Ancient Ruins)
Step back in time at Teotihuacan, the ancient city of pyramids just outside the city, once a thriving Mesoamerican metropolis. Explore the awe-inspiring Pyramids while uncovering the mysteries of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you want to go all out - book a full day tour with a hot air balloon ride over the pyramids! These tours are about an hour from the Andaz Hotel and usually include transportation, with pickups very early in the morning.
