Montana is known as The Treasure State, and for us, its greatest treasure is Glacier National Park. During our time living here, we spent every chance we could exploring its trails, lakes, and breathtaking mountain views. We’ve put together this guide to help you make the most of your trip, featuring our favorite hikes, restaurants, activities, and local experiences. Whether you're joining us just for the wedding weekend or turning your visit into a longer Montana adventure, you'll find suggested itineraries to help you plan your stay. We hope this guide helps you discover a little of what makes Glacier so special to us. If you'd like to hike with other wedding guests, please reach out to Natalya (510) 552 - 1786 or Kirin (408) 393 - 6521. We'd be happy to connect guests with similar interests and help coordinate group hikes or activities!
Bitterroot Backpacking is a 5-star local hiking and backpacking outfitter owned by our friend Luke Hayduk! He can provide local trail advice, gear rentals, and/or unforgettable guided hiking trips in and around Glacier National Park! We've done tours with him on multiple occasions in Glacier, and with each progressive trip, he's created even more unforgettable experiences for us (ask him about our legendary sunset hike!)
This was our go-to restaurant, a place we'd always take visitors and friends. The bison burgers are extraordinary!
This was our favorite bar, with awesome live music!
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and one of the clearest lakes in the country! We enjoyed a romantic sunset kayak to Wild Horse Island here.
Easily one of the quirkiest and most unique hikes we've enjoyed has been this llama trek! Short, educational, and safe -- bears are apparently afraid of llamas!
What better way to get into the western spirit than some horseback riding!
While it's a bit of a journey from Whitefish, the Bison Range provides a near guarantee of a sighting of these huge animals! You explore the Range by car, not by foot, so this is a great option if you're looking for more of a road trip than a hike.
