Yes! We will have a huge parking lot to accommodate any vehicles.
Unfortunately no... refer to the top of the travel page for more details, but we encourage you to either carpool or schedule with a local cab company in advance. The roads to the venue are windy and dark at night, so we ask that you take extra precaution when driving to and from the venue for your party's safety, particularly if you are planning to consume alcohol at the wedding. Please visit this Google sheet for carpool and transport options if you are not renting a car: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NrcJqzNspMExVF-rTmKbOeWTIUs3twYblop3QfPmdiQ/edit?usp=sharing.
Funny you should ask, your body does become dehydrated at a faster rate at altitudes. This is quite relevant for our wedding since Sisters, OR is 3,182 feet above sea level. For reference Whitefish Bay's elevation is 650 feet (looking at you Wisconsinites...), Austin's elevation is 489 feet, and NYC/SF's elevation are a whopping ~40 feet above sea level (insert "damn Daniel" from Mrs. Ambrose here). What does this mean for you? DRINK PLENTY WATER, particularly if you plan to consume alcohol. You wouldn't believe how far just one beer gets you at 3,182 feet coming from 40 feet of elevation.
We're so glad you asked! Please check out our "Things to do" page for our recommendations.
Some beautiful nature, fun times, and adventures galore :) Aside from that, Central Oregon is called a high desert for a reason. It may take you some time to adjust to the altitude. It's also pretty dry here as well so we'd recommend bringing some extra lotion.
