Flight
You fly into Puerto Vallarta (Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, airport code - PVR). Sayulita is a 60 minute drive from the PVR airport. There are a few options to get from PVR to Sayulita: -Uber: this is the easiest and most affordable option. Exit the airport and go left, cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the street and call the Uber from there (typically they are less than 5 minutes away). Approx. $30-$60 USD. -Taxi: right outside of the airport (typically there is a long taxi line). Approx. $60-$100 USD. -Shuttle: pre-book a shuttle service (recommended for larger groups). Price varies per company and number of people. -We do NOT recommend renting a car, as parking is very limited, and the town of Sayulita is easily accessible by walking. Golf carts are available to rent once in town which are more convenient, and more fun, than renting a car. Approx. $50 USD per day. If you are close to San Diego, we recommend flying out of Tijuana for a more affordable and direct flight option to Puerto Vallarta! You use CBX to cross the border and then fly directly out of Tijuana. This is where we will be traveling from.
Hotel
We recommend staying in downtown Sayulita (where the wedding venue is located). We recommend Hotel Ysuri. There are also great Airbnb, VRBO, and Sayulita Life house rentals - this is the option we always do when we stay here! Hotel Ysuri is a lovely and affordable hotel in downtown Sayulita. We loved our stay here and recommend it for all guests. We do not have a room block because we want guests to have the flexibility to stay anywhere, so if you do want to stay here, book as soon as you can!
Hotel
A boutique hotel in downtown Sayulita - our wedding planner owns this gem of a hotel!
Hotel
If you are looking for 5-star luxury accommodations, then we recommend staying in Punta Mita. The Conrad Punta de Mita (30 minutes from the venue in Sayulita) is one of our favorites. Please note, if you stay in Punta Mita, you will be responsible for your own transportation to the wedding (these hotels offer car/taxi services).
Travel Note
Sayulita is one of the safest places in Mexico, however as with travel anywhere in the world, please take reasonable precautions to ensure the safest experience. Leave unnecessary valuables at home, lock valuables in the hotel safe, and lock your door when you leave. Do not leave your valuables unattended at the public beach (speakers, phones, etc.) Food safety - don't drink the tap water in Mexico and try to utilize bottled water to brush your teeth. While we have enjoyed the street food and drinks many times, it is not advised to consume street food/drinks, so please avoid these vendors. Ensure ice is filtered or ask for no ice in your drink. Research restaurants before eating there to ensure they have good reviews. Bring Pepto Bismol and Imodium in case you have a sensitive stomach.
