We're getting Married!

Ryan and Natalie met online and hit it off almost instantly with some friendly, and sometimes cheeky, banter. After a few days of texting and phone calls, they decided it was time to meet up in person. The big day was set for Sunday June 13, 2021 and the plan was simple; a laid back trip to the dog beach in Port Burwell so Gemma could tag along! Little did they know, what was meant to be a casual first date would turn into one of those days they’d look back on forever (and laugh about)! Ryan picked up Natalie and Gemma, and of course, there was a moment of humour right from the start! Natalie showed up with Gemma’s “baby seat”...yep, the one she straps her dog into.. just like Gemma is royalty (of course she is!) Ryan, didn’t even blink an eye, and let her set it up in his car, no questions asked. That moment was sealed as the first of many inside jokes to come! At the beach, Gemma was in her element. She rolled around in the sand like a little maniac, dug up half the beach, and swam in the water like she was part fish. It didn’t take long for Gemma to become completely smitten with Ryan. As the hours passed, she was falling more and more in love with him, if that’s even possible for a dog. By the end of the day, she was all in for the love story—tail wagging, eyes adoring, and clearly thinking, “This guy’s a keeper!” Meanwhile, Ryan and Natalie had some serious bonding time of their own. They spent over five hours chatting, laughing, and watching Gemma live her best doggy life while soaking up the sun. Time flew by so fast, and as the sun started to set, they figured it was time to wrap up their beach day. But not before one last stop...ice cream... Because who doesn’t need ice cream after hours of sand and dog chaos? Let's review the finer details though... Natalie came super prepared for the day; sunscreen on and a well stocked bag for Gemma. Water? Check. Treats? Double check. Toys? Triple check. Because what’s a dog mom without a fully equipped beach bag for her fur baby? Ryan, on the other hand, had his own idea of being prepared. He brought a beach umbrella (points for shade!), a snack for them to share, and...wait for it...he even thought to pack a bowl for Gemma to have a drink! How sweet is that?! But here is where things took a turn... While Natalie was all set with her sunscreen, ready to face the sun, Ryan... well, not so much. He completely forgot about sunscreen, and before long, the fair and light haired man was burnt from head to toe, looking like a lobster that’d been left on the grill too long. If there was ever a physical reminder of that memorable first date, it was Ryan’s sunburn. Looking back, it’s funny how a simple beach day turned into so much more. What started with a casual trip to the beach and some laughs ended up sparking a love story that neither of them could have predicted. And now, preparing their wedding day, they look back at all those moments; the good, the sunburned, and of course, Gemma’s unwavering devotion... and wouldn’t change a thing!
