Our Story

Sparks That Never Faded

Our story didn’t start with a grand romantic moment; it started on stage, a little chaotic, and very on brand. We met in 2007 at Gaslight Theatre, cast in teen productions with titles as dramatic as Cinderella Wore Combat Boots and Happily Never After. Natalie noticed Kegan right away...cute, confident, and impossible to miss. Kegan, on the other hand, was busy charming just about everyone else and didn’t quite catch on. Over the years, they kept finding themselves in the same place...more shows, the same circle of friends, always crossing paths. Through high school and beyond, even as life pulled them in different directions, they never fully lost touch. There was always something there. The only problem? Timing. One of them was always just a step ahead, or behind the other. For years, they circled each other in a series of almosts. But eventually, after enough missed moments and “maybe someday,” everything finally lined up. Same place, same time...and this time, they didn’t miss it. And in May 2025, Kegan made it official in the most Kegan way possible: by updating his relationship status on Facebook…without telling Natalie first. No heads-up. No big speech. Just suddenly “In a Relationship.” And honestly, that tracks. After years of near misses, all it took was the right moment for the match to finally catch without burning out. The spark was always there; it just needed time to ignite. And now, we get to watch it grow into something lasting. We’re so grateful for those of you who helped keep that spark alive along the way, and we can’t wait to celebrate it with you.

The Proposal

The Weekend That Sparked Forever

The engagement was equal parts perfectly planned… and perfectly unexpected...aka the most Kegan thing ever. He had a whole weekend lined up, telling Natalie they were heading to Eureka Springs with his family, but first, a stop in Tulsa to spend the night at the Hard Rock. To kick things off, he took her to dinner at Carver’s on 19. Meanwhile, Natalie was texting one of her bridesmaids, saying she didn’t think this was the weekend and hoping it would happen soon. At the same time, that same bridesmaid was texting Kegan asking for a heads-up, “Is it happening in a couple weeks? A month?” Kegan’s response? “About two minutes.” And just like that, he went off on a tangent and made it happen totally on his own, totally unexpected, and totally him. During dessert, a “waiter” (aka one of Kegan’s groomsmen in disguise) brought out a dessert glass with a ring tucked inside, wrapped in a flower napkin. Natalie was completely caught off guard as Kegan got down on one knee and asked the question. Spoiler alert: she said yes. They celebrated with drinks, soaking in the moment and just like that, the next chapter began. And in true Kegan fashion, the ring made the moment even more special. He designed it entirely on his own, combining everything Natalie loved with his own personal touches no help, no hints, just instinct (and somehow, he nailed it). Safe to say… it was worth the wait.
