The Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is located 20 minutes from the venue. DTW has two main terminals (McNamara and Evans terminal) depending what airline you will be flying.
The wedding will be held at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse, located at 100 Market Pl, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.
We have not booked a set block of hotel rooms to allow you to find what fits best for you. There are a plethora of hotels, Air BNBs and rentals throughout Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and even on the way from the airport (Exit 190-Belleville, off of I-94) that we are sure will match your needs. The Bride and Groom are staying in Depot Town, near the wedding venue and some of Natalie’s favorite haunts.
For those traveling from out of state and without their own vehicles, there are a variety of reasonable transportation services including rental cars, Lyft, Uber, and Turo. The Detroit Airport is 20 minutes away from Ypsilanti, hotels, and wedding venue.
There is a strict no smoking or open flame policy at The Freighthouse, a historic venue. All smoking must be 30 feet away from the building and patio. If this is not abided, the wedding can be terminated. In the courtyard directly across from the venue, there will be a couple of public benches and ashtrays available.
Yes! There is a variety of parking available, including many free parking spots at the Frog Island Parking lot situated across from Freighthouse Plaza. Directly outside of the venue, there are marked paid spots.
We politely request nothing larger than a card be brought to the wedding (Though, your presence is gift enough!). Please send any gifts to our home address. We will be traveling to our honeymoon directly after the big day!
We kindly request this be an adult-only wedding.
Fun fact, no! As you know, The Ypsilanti Freighthouse is a historic building which includes worn and historical floors. Please expect mildly uneven walking surfaces that may be dimly lit in the evening. There are a few ramps entering the building as an alternative to steps.
We would like an unplugged ceremony. Please turn off all devices and enjoy being fully present with us. We are looking forward to celebrating with you!
