FAQs

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Our dress code is semi-formal summer wedding. We would like to encourage you to be comfortable (dress light for the weather). And don't be afraid to have fun with it!

Question

What is the weather usually like?

Answer

The weather in North Carolina in June can range from pleasant to fairly hot - make sure you dress light but bring a range of layers. During the day, the weather might average ~85 degrees, and is usually pleasant at night. We might also get a few summer thunderstorms. The ceremony will be outside mostly in shade, and the reception will be indoors with AC.

Question

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Answer

Whatever you feel comfortable wearing. It is a gravel path to the ceremony site, and there is lawn open to guests during cocktail hour but the lawn can be avoided if you are in heels.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, but otherwise feel free.

Question

Can I bring a gift?

Answer

Sure! We consider your presence at the wedding the only gift we need, but if you feel inclined to bring one, we will have a gift/card table at the wedding.

Question

Where should I eat in Durham?

Answer

Here is a list of our favorites! These spots are all walkable within downtown. - Durham Food Hall: indoor food hall with variety of options for everyone - Niko's in Brightleaf: Greek with a fun atmosphere (recommend a reservation) - M Pocha: Asian small plates (recommend a reservation) - Pizzeria Toro: classic Durham staple for wood-fired pizza - Bull McCabe's Irish Pub: casual pub-style food & beers with great outdoor seating - Luna Rotisserie: our first ever dinner date spot, Latin American rotisserie meats

Question

Can I stay at an Airbnb?

Answer

Absolutely! There are lots of Airbnb options in Durham. Generally we would recommend staying in accommodations downtown or near the venue for convenience. Durham's downtown is walkable and full of great restaurants/bars to explore. I would generally recommend staying south of I-85 and west of Alston St. Feel free to text us at 509-899-1871 if you have questions!

Question

Who should I contact with questions?

Answer

In the weeks leading up to the wedding, feel free to contact Jake or Natalie directly with questions. In the days leading up or especially the day of the wedding, please contact our planner/coordinator Michele Workman at 309-370-0988 with questions.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes! Children of invited families will be included on the invitation/RSVP.
