On September 8th, 2023, in the breathtaking mountains of Whistler, British Columbia, Coleton asked me to spend forever with him. It was the most perfect day of my life, though it was not without its challenges! We had set out on an incredibly difficult hike—one that tested our strength, endurance, and determination. The journey up took nearly six hours, with steep inclines and rugged terrain. At times, I questioned if we’d make it to the top, especially when we encountered a black bear along the way! My heart was racing, but Coleton stayed calm, guiding me through the moment. Finally, after what felt like an endless climb, we reached the summit, and suddenly, every ounce of exhaustion melted away. The view was absolutely breathtaking—just the two of us, surrounded by towering peaks and endless skies. And then, in that perfect peaceful moment, Coleton got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was amazed and joyful, and of course, I said yes! The journey down the mountain took another three hours, and by the time we reached the bottom. We were beyond exhausted. But, nothing could dampen our excitement. That evening, we suited up and headed out for a celebratory dinner. We bar-hopped throughout Whistler, savouring every second of our engagement. What made this proposal even more special was the thought and effort Coleton put into it. Without me knowing, he had traveled to a different city to buy my dream engagement ring. He even missed his flight home, but that didn’t stop him—he drove more than 15 hours just to make sure everything remained a surprise. Then, he planned an unforgettable two-week road trip across Canada, and halfway through our adventure, he chose that mountain in Whistler as the place where he would ask me to be his wife. It was truly the most magical, meaningful, and unforgettable moment of my life. Whistler will forever hold a special place in our hearts—a place where love, adventure, and a little bit of wildness came together in the most beautiful way.
