While there are no current City of Chicago ordinances, we recognize that the number of cases in Chicago and surrounding areas are increasing. We encourage everyone to be cautious when traveling to and around Chicago prior to June 3rd, for the safety of all of our guests! We also encourage guests to get COVID tested prior to travel to Chicago for additional peace of mind at our celebration. We will continue to update this information to reflect any updates to current City of Chicago ordinances.
We invite our guests to get a little fancy! We would love our guests to wear darker suits and more formal, mid to full length dresses. We also request any traditionally bridal colors (including white, ivory, and cream colors) be reserved for only the bride.
All day-of festivities will be taking place at Firehouse Chicago, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
The main ceremony and reception areas on the first floor are wheelchair accessible, including the restroom. Please note that our venue is a historic firehouse and may have some rough or uneven surfaces throughout the indoor and outdoor space. If you have any specific questions about the accessibility, we encourage you to reach out to us directly.
A shuttle to the ceremony has been arranged for guests staying at the Knickerbocker Hotel and Hotel Versey. Throughout the evening, the shuttle will be running service on-demand to help guests return safely to both hotels. For guests staying elsewhere, we recommend your preferred rideshare service or a taxi!
Yes! However, if you plan on drinking we ask that you please use a rideshare, or take advantage of the public transit or taxi services. There is limited free parking provided by our venue at Hayt Elementary School, which is about a third of mile away. The walk to the venue from the lot is about 5-10 minutes. If you require accessible parking please let us know as soon as possible, as we have a limited number of spaces for use right at the venue.
Due to the size of our venue, we are only able to accommodate the individual(s) specified on the invitation. If your invitation includes "and guest" we encourage you to bring a date along for the fun, if it does not, we ask that you come solo. If we have included a guest on your invitation, please be sure to clarify if you will be attending with a guest, or not!
Due to venue limitations, we unfortunately are unable to extend invitations to children under 16. All invited guests will be included on the invitation.
We would prefer you didn't! Our officiant will ask all phones and devices be put away and silenced at the start of the ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer to capture all of the most important moments of our wedding, and we promise to share them all with you!
