Flight
Santa Barbara is in Southern California, approximately 1.5 hours away from Los Angeles with many options on how to travel there. The most direct way to travel to Santa Barbara is by flying into Santa Barbara Airport (SBA). SBA is only a 15 minute drive from Downtown Santa Barbara and offers flights from major airlines such as Alaska, American, Delta, Southwest, and United Airlines. Alternatively, you can fly into one of several Los Angeles area airports and make the ~1.5 hour-long journey to Santa Barbara from LA. If you choose to fly into LA, we recommend looking for flights into LAX or Burbank since those are a bit closer to Santa Barbara than other LA area airports. Travel Note
1. Amtrak Train (~$50 one way per person, ~3.5 hours): take the Pacific Surfliner from Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles to Santa Barbara. To get to Union Station from LAX, we recommend the FlyAway Bus that provides nonstop service from LAX to Union Station. 2. Santa Barbara Airbus (~$60 one way per person, ~2.5 hours): the Santa Barbara Airbus provides transportation service from LAX to Santa Barbara with only 2 stops during the trip. This service offers a slight discount if you book more than one ticket on the same reservation (i.e., if two people are traveling together, the cost becomes $55 one way per person). 3. Rent a Car (price varies, ~1.5 hours): rent a car and drive yourself to Santa Barbara. If you have the time, we recommend driving along Highway 1 for beautiful coastal views along your drive! For any of the options listed above that involve traveling by highway to Santa Barbara, kindly note that LA traffic is REAL so the actual time of your drive will vary depending on the time of day. Please factor that in accordingly as you are planning your travel.
Travel Note
We will not have a room block at any hotels in Santa Barbara for the weekend.
