FRIDA is our current favorite OKC restaurant, and is located in the Paseo Arts District. Boasting delicious Southwest cuisine and a cocktail menu which changes themes each season, we have enjoyed many a wonderful evening with friends and several date night dinners here.
The Hall's is Sarah's favorite pizza place in OKC, and is right in the heart of midtown. Dine in, get it to go, or enjoy their beautiful rooftop. They have classic pizzas available, but specialize in their own creative recipes. They also have delicious cookies and cakes available for dessert. Closed on Sunday, so enjoy in the earlier part of the weekend!
Neighborhood Jam (well, the Norman location) is our go-to and favorite brunch spot. The Midtown location is just as good, and much closer to the wedding lodging. While they don't take reservations, we highly recommend using Yelp's "Waitlist" feature so you don't end up waiting 3 hours (yes, really) upon arrival!
While the gluten in delicious ramen is a thing of the past, Goro Ramen is the best ramen Sarah has ever had and recommends it to everyone. Their location is now in the Paseo district, and you will not regret trying it.
Red Rooster is Sarah's favorite place to get brunch in OKC (which they only do on Sundays), but the establishment also has excellent dinner (they open at 4 every other day), a very chill staff, and a lovely rotation of seasonal wines.
The Jones Assembly is a very popular restaurant, bar, and concert venue. While the parking is shit, everything else about it is quite enjoyable. We have enjoyed many a celebration, event, and awkward networking happy hour here. Whether you go for a show, a meal, drinks, or all, you won't be disappointed. Also, for the other three Graham Colton music fans out there: he owns this joint.
VII Asian Bistro is on the far north end of the Asian District, and has exceptional Vietnamese and Chinese food. They are known for their pho, but don't sleep on the chicken fried rice.
Bradford House has delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, with pastries and bakery items also available to go! It is the most beautiful and comforting environment in an old B&B, reopened and expanded into a larger hotel and restaurant.
Parlor OKC is a food hall with lots of great options if you have a variety of preferences to please in your group! They have great indoor and patio seating options, lovely brunch drink specials, and it's easy for everyone to get what they want and still enjoy a meal together.
Go for the drinks, stay for the burger and fries (you heard us right). Bar Arbolada 90% cocktail bar, while boasting what Alton Brown said was the best burger he had ever had (and he was not wrong).
Being Midtown's only German beer and food hall, many a fun evening have been spent at Fassler. Often more popular with the younger collective, it is an excellent place to get a decent priced beer that isn't a domestic lite. The sausage isn't bad, either!
Get a look at the wedding venue before the big event! The First Americans Museum (FAM) is a beautiful new museum east of downtown OKC, honoring and teaching about the history of the 39 First American Nation tribes in Oklahoma. Guests of the wedding can visit the museum this weekend at no cost!
Probably Oklahoma City's most well-known museum, the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a stunning tribute to those who lost their lives during the Oklahoma City bombing, and to honor our resilient city. It will be especially busy during wedding weekend due to the Oklahoma Memorial Marathon, which is hosted by the museum.
When we were kids, it was known as the OmniPlex (still a far cooler name), but the Science Museum of Oklahoma reigns supreme. If you are looking for family activities, this is a fun time for everyone. If you don't have kiddos, it's still a really cool hands-on opportunity to learnt some scah-ence.
Think of it as Oklahoma City's own little Meow Wolf. Factory Obscura is an immersive experience, and fun for the whole family.
While you may think of an escape room as a team building activity, we have legitimately spent an anniversary here. Baker Street is the best Escape Room in OKC because their rooms are creative, it's right next to Hall's Pizza Kitchen, and they change their rooms every few months. If you're not interested, we get it that you're scared.
Riversport is just across the highway from the wedding venue, and has tons of fun adventure activities available. As long as the weather cooperates, you can even do river rapids or surfing! Get your fill of OKC water sports before we host crew events in the next Olympics!
Scissortail Park is all about community gathering, so there is always something happening! Whether it's a concert, food trucks, the end of a parade route, or other event, Scissortail is a major hub of downtown OKC. It also is a great place to play frisbee, have a picnic, or watch people with dogs they feel confident bringing to public parks without fences (i.e. not our dogs).
Myriad Gardens, also located in downtown OKC and free to the public, is absolutely stunning. A late April visit is perfect timing, as everything is green and in full bloom. Myriad Gardens also has free events throughout the weekends, a crystal bridge conservatory, and is a beautiful place for a photo opp (you'll spot it as the backdrop for many of our engagement photos)!
