HIKING - Baker Preserve/Lummi Mountain Lookout: A steep 3.2 mile round-trip that has a beautiful view of the San Juans Otto Preserve: An easy approximately 0.84 mile forest walk on a well maintained loop with 3 optional short side trails (adds 0.5 miles) Curry Preserve: An easy to moderate approximately 1 mile forest and meadow walk loop with minimal elevation gain BIKING - Lummi is perfect for either a short or long ride. You can bike around the island in approximately 45 min to 1 hour. The northern half of the island is scenic and flat while the southern half is hilly. OTHER - Whale Watching: The San Juan Islands have a resident pod of orcas which, if you get lucky, you can see. We had a great time with Outer Island Excursions Beach Store Café: This cute restaurant offers a variety of tasty fare and has a great patio with a view. Go Boating: The San Juan Islands offer many opportunities for powerboating, kayaking and sailboating. There are numerous operators in the area
HIKING - Whatcom Falls Park: A lovely park that offers a variety of trails and a beautiful waterfall Mount Baker: About a 2 hour drive from Bellingham but well worth it! Artist's point is an especially beautiful place to start. SIGHTS - Drive the Chuckanut: This beautiful old highway winds along the coast just south of Bellingham.
