FAQs

The Wedding Website of Nancy Hughes and Jacob Lucas
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Garden Party Formal We kindly ask our guests to dress in Garden Party Formal attire — think pastels, florals, and light, elegant fabrics perfect for an outdoor celebration. Dresses, jumpsuits, or suits in soft hues are ideal. Feel free to add a touch of personality with hats, statement accessories, or playful prints — just keep it polished and festive. Please keep in mind that the ceremony will take place outdoors, so we recommend comfortable shoes suitable for grass or gravel.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but only children who are part of the wedding party or the children of those in the wedding party are included in the ceremony and reception. This helps us keep things special and manageable for everyone while still celebrating with our closest family and friends.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Unplugged Celebration: To create a fully immersive experience, we kindly ask guests not to take photos during the event. Our professional photographers will capture every special moment so everyone can be fully present and enjoy the day without distractions. During the reception, disposable cameras will be provided at each table for guests to capture memories — please enjoy using them but do not take them home. Please note, guests found taking photos with their phones during the event may be asked to leave in order to respect this unplugged celebration.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Our wedding will be a dry event, with no alcohol served during the ceremony or reception. But don’t worry our fun and refreshing soda bar has you covered! You can mix your own custom drinks with a variety of sodas and sparkling waters, flavored syrups (cherry, vanilla, raspberry), fresh fruit slices (lemon, lime, orange), and creamy options like vanilla or chocolate creamers. We’ll also have mocktails inspired by classic cocktails, so everyone can enjoy festive drinks without the alcohol. Don’t forget the celebration doesn’t stop there! The couple plans to head to the bar later that evening for an after-party.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Yes, you are welcome to bring a plus one! Please indicate their attendance when you RSVP.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, we are happy to accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions! Please ensure you let us know in advance.

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

Our wedding is held indoors in the beautiful chapel, so rain won’t affect the ceremony at all. Just bring an umbrella for the short walk to the chapel so you stay dry on the way in once inside, everything will be cozy, dry, and ready for the celebration!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to get settled. Kindly note that the doors will be closed and locked at 11:00 AM sharp there will be no exceptions. If you arrive after this time, we won’t be able to admit you until the ceremony concludes.
