You will not regret the incredibly potent margaritas and my favorite entree, the crab avocado quesadillas. These guys are great. We were very sad to discover this week that they are trying to sell the restaurant, so if you have the cash and need someone to move to Maine to run the place, perhaps we should make an offer?
This is a mix of Greek and Italian food, with the most incredible part being the handmade pasta.
A little quirky, but great views and a fun time; they have other stuff going on like films, etc.
We like the beer here, and we love the vibe. Really great for families; call ahead to see if there are food trucks visiting.
It's tiny! But maybe there's room for you there this time of year, to try a bunch of different beers.
We love this place.
Pick up sandwiches and salads here, or pastries and coffee. Hard to resist the local treats; I think on weekends they bring in Holy Donuts so you don't have to drive to Portland!
We adore this place; it is worth the drive.
A really great choice for lunch, especially if you are going to the Maine Maritime Museum or to Halcyon Yarn Shop(!!!)
Perfect for the authentic seafood experience, without schlepping to Portland. A family favorite.
Need the latest political non-fiction? A novel to take your breath and your mind away? A replacement copy of Goodnight Moon? PRINT BOOKSTORE has you covered.
Right? You need it.
There are two yarn stores in Freeport: One mean, one nice. This is the nice one.
Learn something.
This is where we go to the beach, Maine-style.
This is where Nanci and Deb got engaged!!! They remain the highest-regarded, most successful brewery in Maine. Please drink responsibly as their taproom offers free samples.
We love this brewery and remember when they were just teeny tiny. My, how they've grown!
Very solid beer offerings from this terrific place.
These guys have gotten too big for their britches, with an expanded tap room and weekday, lunchtime LONG LINES for their beer. But this time of year it could be worth a stop. The beer is delicious.
This is our first, real, independent Maine craft brewery favorite. They have expanded recently(again) and the environment is very family-friendly. Check it out.
We love the vibe here and the beer is wonderful and unusual; emphasis on farmhouse style rather than IPA. They also have a beer brewed with lobster shells!!!
A new brewery with terrific beers, mostly IPAs, and a fun vibe which is fine for families.
We checked this place out in August and it is darling! If the bars close too early for you, you might have luck wandering over here. We can't wait to visit some evening when I am not dieting and can enjoy a cocktail.
