Our Love Story

The Wedding Website of Anna Schierbaum and Timothy Nagy

The Beginning

September 2019 - February 2020

We first met in a cozy walk-up apartment on Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights. The reason we were there was to attend Community Group: a weekly gathering of about 20 people who attend Apostles Church Brooklyn. We had small conversations, traded glances across the living room, and we identified a certain spark between us. We began leaving Community Group at the same time, and we found that we both needed to get to the same subway station. So, we took many walks together down Joralemon Street. Then, once we made it to Borough Hall Station, we found ourselves letting our trains pass by so we could keep talking: "It's okay - I'll catch the next one." At the time, Tim was leading the Community Group, so he would email everyone each week. Those emails spun off into longer conversations with Anna. We corresponded over email from October 30, 2019 until February 9, 2020. We sent 58 emails back and forth over that span, covering many topics - we were dating over email. The momentum was building to something special.

The Middle

February 2020 - September 2020

We had a coffee date at Konditori, a Swedish Expresso Bar on Smith Street, on February 21, 2020, and a dinner date at Tacombi in the Financial District on March 12, 2020. We were ready to keep things rolling, but the pandemic rolled in instead. Within a week, Anna went to Tennessee, and Tim went to Massachusetts. We left nearly all of our belongings behind, thinking we may return in a couple weeks, but, alas, we both ended up staying with our folks for nearly six months, and we were 1,000 miles apart. Zoom became our new meeting place. We learned more and more about each other, we stayed up later and later, we discussed our values: this season of our relationship would make a great movie montage scene. By the end of the summer, we learned that we would both be headed back to Brooklyn, and we were excited to be back in person after six long months.

The En(d)gagement

September 2020 - Present

It was spectacular to reunite - we could finally confirm that everything was real. The next two years brought about many milestones, many more conversations, many prayers, a few more emails, lots of notes, and much more. Then came August 13, 2022: the proposal. It was an illustrious day. Beautiful weather, a Porsche Boxster, a small chapel, a life-changing question, a life-changing answer, pictures, brunch, cruising down Seven Lakes Drive, an estuary, Italian pastries, a ferry ride, dinner - it will hold a special place in our memories for a long, long time. Since then, we have enjoyed our season of engagement, and we're thrilled for it to become a covenant of marriage. Moreover, we are honored that you have impacted our story at one point or another, and we are hopeful that you can make it to celebrate our wedding with us. Próst! 💙🖤
