Sarah: I’ve always said that New York is one of my favourite cities in the world, so meeting a New Yorker felt like more than coincidence — it felt like God quietly working behind the scenes. At first, I didn’t think it was the right time… but Mike was sure. He knew what he wanted and definitely wasn’t taking no for an answer (he must have really wanted poutine and Tim Hortons for life). Mike: From the moment I met Sarah, I knew she was someone special. I trusted God with that feeling and followed the peace He placed on my heart. I wasn’t discouraged by timing or distance — I knew she was worth it. After our first date, I went home and told my brother, “I think I’m going to marry her.” He thought I was crazy — but I knew. God placed a certainty in my heart that I couldn’t explain, only trust. Sarah: Eventually, I said yes — and on June 8, 2024, we went on our first date. From that moment on, everything changed. I’ve always loved to travel, so it felt only fitting that I was often on a plane heading to see Mike and vice versa, trusting God with every mile between us. Those trips became sacred moments filled with laughter, prayer, and learning how to love intentionally(and internationally lol). They’re also a big reason why a destination wedding felt so right for us. Mike: Somewhere along the way, we found our perfect halfway point — Ithaca. Four hours each way, beautiful hikes, waterfalls, and quiet moments that felt like gifts from God. With every visit, our connection deepened and our faith grew stronger together. Together: We’ve learned that love isn’t just about the miles traveled or the adventures taken — it’s about choosing each other daily and keeping God at the center of it all. With grateful hearts and full trust in His plan, we’re so excited to begin this next chapter hand in hand, surrounded by faith, love, and a whole lot of joy.
