Our Story

Planes, Trains, and Falling in Love

Ryan and Alex met in September 2022 at a mutual friend’s wedding in South Lake Tahoe. Both were "extras" at the wedding, tagging along to pre-wedding events. They instantly connected over their shared military background and spent the weekend laughing, bonding, and discovering how much they had in common. Maybe it was the romance in the air, or maybe it was fate, but by the end of the weekend, they had fallen for each other's charm and knew something special was beginning. For six months, they navigated a long-distance relationship, taking flights and train rides every chance they could to be together. Eventually, Alex decided it was time to make the move to Denver. With the help of her family, she packed up her car, her dog Stella, and made the road trip to Colorado. Since they had only been together for six months, Ryan wasn’t quite ready to move in together just yet—so in true Alex fashion, she found the perfect compromise: an apartment right next door to his. The next two years were filled with adventure, love, and unforgettable memories—long walks with Stella, Denver Nuggets games, concerts, and soul-bonding conversations. Their journey took them to Kansas City, Texas, California, and New York, making each trip and every little moment together even more meaningful. In November 2024, during a trip to New York City that Ryan won through work, he had a special plan in mind. He played it cool, pitching the trip as an opportunity to see Madison Square Garden and catch a Knicks game, while Alex was just excited for the adventure (and the pizza). However, her intuition kicked in when Ryan told her he’d plan Friday, and she could plan Saturday. Just in case, she even practiced how she’d say “yes” in front of the mirror. That Friday, Ryan told Alex they were going on a guided bike tour in Central Park. As they walked through the park, she kept asking, “Is this our bike tour?”—until Ryan finally led her to a quiet spot on a bridge, beautifully decorated with rose petals and a sign that spelled out "marry me." With tears, laughter, and pure joy, Alex said yes—marking the beginning of their forever. We are beyond grateful for the love and support of our friends and family and cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. Your presence means the world to us, and we’re so excited to share our special day together!
