Yes! There is parking at the venue. Prior to 5pm, the parking lot will also be accessible to the public. The gardens close to the public at 5pm. Once the ceremony starts at 5:30pm, the venue will close the entrance gate so members of the public don't come in, but will leave the exit gate open so our guests can leave as needed.
Arrive by 5pm to get seated! You are also welcome to come earlier to spend time enjoying the gardens.
From the Botanical Gardens parking lot, you can follow our signs to the ceremony location, which is called the Perennial Circle on maps of the gardens. The walk takes 3-5 minutes and is over a level, mostly gravel path. We will also have a few family members as ushers to help guide you to the correct location.
While we would love to meet everyone's significant others, we are unfortunately constrained by our budget and the number of guests we've established with our vendors. Therefore, we have decided to stick to just guests who we personally know and are our friends or family. Please only bring guests named on the invitation. Of course, if you are traveling to Chapel Hill with your partner, we would love to meet them some other time during your trip!
Anywhere from dressy casual to formal. If there's something in your closet you've been just waiting for the chance to wear, we'd love to see it! Wear what makes you feel most like YOU.
There will be a Quiet Room in the reception area with fidget toys, ear plugs, and a space away from the louder main room. The ceremony itself will be outside, with many easily accessible areas around the garden you can wander or sit in if you need to get away for a break. Guests can also wander the gardens during the reception!
We have designed our wedding to include wedding traditions, both Jewish and secular, that we like, and are leaving out ones that do not fit for us. Neither Luca nor Nadia will be wearing a white dress, we will not have a traditional wedding cake (though there will be dessert, don't worry!), and we will not have bridesmaids. From the Jewish tradition, we will be married under a chuppah by a rabbi, listen to traditional Hebrew blessings, and stomp on wine glasses at the end of the ceremony. We hope you enjoy the ceremony we have chosen!
Luca is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. They are also happy to be called a bride and Nadia's wife! Nadia uses she/her pronouns and can be called a bride and Luca's wife.
We do have a registry here on Zola, but we are most excited to see everyone in person, some after a long time! We know traveling for a wedding can get expensive for guests, and we truly do not need or expect a gift. If you would like to give us something in person, some budget-friendly options we would LOVE include a skein of yarn, a handmade card, or a packet of vegetable seeds!
