For the ceremony, space is limited, but you can definitely invite a friend to join the party starting at 8pm.
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off so you can really party! We'll help book some babysitters to make that a reality. If you are a member of our extended family, your children are invited to dance all night, and we'll be arranging a babysitter option for younger kids on site so you can enjoy the late night activities too.
We have a lot of people coming from a variety of places and "wedding attire" means something different everywhere. Therefore, we're encouraging everyone to Dress To Party. If that means a nice suit to you, go for it. If you prefer a short dress and flats, bring it on! We'll be nicely dressed as will our families, but they have to look good in pictures, you know? Our only request is that you get dressed at least nice enough to meet your significant other's parents (AKA no jeans).
You'll be well fed, we promise. Because we're non-traditional, most of the food will be served at stations in a buffet style. This ensures that you can eat when you want to eat and that the food will always be the right temperature when you're ready. Our caterer will be showcasing food from around the world as a symbol of our love for travel and local cuisine. Everything will be OU Glatt Kosher (our caterer is Espirit if you want to start getting hungry).
We want you to dance and mingle. That means, you shouldn't feel restricted to make small talk with the group of 6 people we put you together with at a table. We'll have plenty of spaces for you to sit, relax, and eat; but you can move around between them as opposed to staying put. If you're one of our parents friends, you'll be assigned to a group of tables with people you know as sort of a "Home Base".
Both! Three will be a band playing until 11pm and then a DJ until 2am. Wear comfortable shoes and something that makes you feel fabulous and want to get down.
Right now we're looking at visiting Africa and some off shore islands nearby over the winter. Got any suggestions? We're all ears!
