Nikkah

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Alowyn Gardens
1210 Melba Highway, Yarra Glen, VIC 3775, Australia

Guests are kindly requested to wear light pastel colours to complement the soft, serene tone of this event. Think blush pinks, sage greens, dusty blues, and soft lilacs. Please avoid wearing white or cream, as these colours are traditionally reserved for the bride on this day.

The Nikkah is the Islamic marriage ceremony, marking the sacred moment we are joined in matrimony before our loved ones and in the eyes of Allah. This ceremony holds deep significance for us and our families. We kindly ask that phones are silenced and put away during the Nikkah ceremony, and we appreciate your presence and prayers on this special day.

Mehndi

6:00 pm - 11:00 pm

This is the event to go full glam with bold colours and desi sparkle! Think bright yellows, rich greens, hot pinks, and oranges. Traditional outfits like lehengas, shararas, and saris are encouraged. Dress comfortably, as you’ll want to hit the dance floor!

This ladies-only event is all about celebration and togetherness. The Mehndi is about laughter, dancing, and creating memories with the women. Expect dhol beats, vibrant energy, and great tunes!

Rukhsati

6:00 pm

This is a formal event, so think elegant and festive. Traditional or Western formalwear is welcome. Please avoid wearing red, as this colour is traditionally reserved for the bride. Respectively, we request the men to refrain from wearing a black sherwani as this is reserved for the Groom. Jewel tones, pastels, metallics, or darker shades like navy, emerald, or plum are all lovely choices.

The Rukhsati and Baraat marks the formal wedding celebration and the bride’s farewell from her family home. It is an emotional and beautiful evening, filled with heartfelt moments, traditional customs, and joyful celebration as our two families officially come together.

Walima

6:00 pm

This is a formal event, so we invite you to dress to impress! Elegant traditional outfits or eveningwear are perfect for the occasion. Soft pastels, jewel tones, or classic neutrals are all welcome.

The Walima is the final celebration in our wedding journey. A formal reception hosted by the groom’s family to mark the beginning of our married life.
