Get the butter rub wings! 🤤
If you want to do some local fishing, go here. It’s a state park as well.
I recommend Tubing on the Chattahoochee using Cool River Tubing Company
If you are in this area take the time to stop at Meeks Park. If you are at the parking lot looking to the creek, just to the right of the covered bridge, is where John and I met. If you see seeds on the ground you will know you are in the right spot. There is a gentleman that comes everyday to feed the squirrels. He’s got them so trained that they will eat out of your hand.
Another favorite of ours. This is a small town full of local shops. Take the time to explore. Those shops help support a group that is dear to our heart called “Operation Ghillie Broques”. It’s a Scottish organization out of GA and NC that supports children’s homes.
Visit the square, it is a great place to visit for local shopping and good food. Just out side of town is one of my favorite stores, “ Old Crow Soap & Merchantile”! Take time to smell the soaps but make sure you read what they say as well. My favorite soap is the Almost Milk & Cherry. If you have time, visit the Consolidated Gold Mine.
Our favorite spot in the city is at Echo Square. It’s located right on the riverwalk where the convention center is directly across the river. First, Stand in the middle of the square. Next, whisper to yourself. Finally, be in awe of this cool spot!
You can’t go wrong with a walk on the beach, but this lighthouse is pretty cool as well. Take the time during the day to see it then at dusk walk along the beach and capture the sunset with the beach and lighthouse in one picture - it’s a beautiful site!
