October 14th, 2016—a day we’ll never forget. We first met in high school while running cross country, but our story truly began when Javante commented a few heart-eye emojis on one of Mya’s Instagram posts. Mya quickly DM’d him asking for his Snapchat, and what started as a small message quickly turned into something much more. Just a couple of short weeks later, Javante nervously asked Mya to be his girlfriend while sitting on the floor of their high school, sharing tacos (because if you know us, this totally checks out). From that very moment, we knew something special had begun. Over the last ten years, we’ve grown up together—graduated high school and college side by side, moved away from our hometown, started our careers, traveled to new places, and even raised our dog, Champ, together. Through every challenge and life change, we’ve supported each other and been there for all the major milestones. Through it all, our story begins and ends with each other, and in every season of life we’ve shared, we’ve always known we were meant for each other. Now, we’re overjoyed to say “I do,” just ten days before our 10-year anniversary, surrounded by the people we love most, as we begin this next chapter together.
