Early spring in Seoul typically sees gradual warming. Daytime temperatures can range from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F), with cooler temperatures at the beginning of the season and warming up as it progresses. We recommend dressing in layers during early spring. It's a good idea to bring a mix of clothing, including light jackets or sweaters for cooler days and short-sleeved shirts for warmer days.
The Seoul metro is very easy to use to get around the city. Transit cards can be purchased at all the stations - the name is called "T-Money" card. A typical fare is $1.20, if you're going to be using the Metro, we might recommend loading 10,000 KRW (roughly $8 USD).
Koreans value respect and politeness. Some basic etiquette tips include bowing when greeting someone, using both hands when giving or receiving something, and removing your shoes when entering someone's home. It's also polite to say "annyeonghaseyo" (hello) and "kamsahamnida" (thank you).
Seoul offers a rich cultural experience. Some popular attractions include visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace, exploring Bukchon Hanok Village, trying local street food in Myeongdong, and taking a stroll along the Han River. We'll see if the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
Given that we're doing a bit of a "destination wedding" for many, we really just appreciate your presence, please no gifts necessary.
Credit and debit cards are widely accepted (e.g., at hotels, restaurants, and shops). However, carrying some cash is helpful for smaller purchases. Additionally, Korea is known for its advanced payment systems, so you might find contactless payments and mobile payment apps like Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay typically work well.
