Things To Do

Balboa Island

Balboa Island

Newport Beach, CA

There's always money in the banana stand! Balboa Island is a cute place for a stroll. Consider taking the ferry across the channel to the Fun Zone. We recommend grabbing balboa bars or frozen bananas for a sweet treat!

Crystal Cove State Park

Crystal Cove State Park

Newport Coast, CA

One of our favorite state parks! Relax at a beautiful beach, check out the historic cabins, grab some delicious food at nearby Bear Flag Tacos or the Shake Shack (not the chain, a local fave).

Balboa/Lido Peninsula

Balboa/Lido Peninsula

Newport Beach, CA

For a true Newport Beach experience, check out the Peninsula! We recommend renting paddle boards or kayaks and spending some time on the water. Electric ("Duffy" style) boats are also a fun option for those not looking to get wet! Our favorite spots in that area are Alta Cafe, Hearst Coffee, Malibu Farms, and Lido Bottleworks.

Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

2301 University Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660

Upper Newport Bay/Back Bay is a scenic 13 mile loop through a nature preserve. It's a beautiful place for a walk, run, or bike ride! We lived in the apartment complex right near this area for two years and we have many fond memories of the area. It's also a great place to watch a sunset!
