Chicago Athletic Association - In the Unbound Collection by Hyatt
Inside this historic hotel downtown, you will find a cozy lobby that transports you to Hogwarts, and Game Room bar with free games to play, and Cindy's rooftop bar with sweeping views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan.
Chicago Cultural Center
This beautiful building was the first Public Library in the city, and was home to thousands of books that were gifted to the city by England following the Great Chicago Fire. Today, it is home to artwork by local artists and 2 Tiffany Stained glass domes.
Millennium Park
No trip to Chicago is complete without a trip to Millennium Park to see the Lurie Gardens, Pritzker Pavilion, and of course Cloud Gate (commonly referred to as the Bean). This sculpture by Indian-born British artist Sir Anish Kapoor is meant to show the seamless transition between earth and sky, and is made up of 168 massive steel plates.
London House
The London House is another favorite rooftop bar, with views overlooking the downtown and beautiful architecture lining the Chicago River.
The Robey
In Hilary's old neighborhood you will find another rooftop bar with views of the entire downtown skyline, along with the church steeples and brownstone walkups lining the streets of Wicker Park.
Myopic Books
Along Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park you will find many charming shops, including Myopic Books. Myopic Books brags to be the oldest and best used book store in the city.
Longman & Eagle
Longman and Eagle is just a few blocks from Andrew and Hilary's home, and is a top class whiskey bar with affordable prices.
Piece Brewery
Chicago might be known for its deep dish pizza, but come to Piece Brewery and Pizzeria for the couple's favorite pizza in the city.
Wendella Tours & Cruises
While it might be chilly in November, Chicago Boat Architecture tours are one of the best ways to learn about the history of the Chicago river and the beautiful buildings that line the banks.
Buddy Guy's Legends
Chicago is known for the Blues, and Buddy Guy's Legends is a great place to catch live music while in the downtown area.
Bangers & Lace Wicker Park
This is one of the first spots Hilary went to after moving to Chicago. After living around the corner for 6 years, this neighborhood spot became a go to for a good drink and good company.
The 606 - Walsh Park - East Trailhead
The 606 is an elevated trail on an old train track. This trail connects three Chicago Neighborhoods, and is named for the first 3 digits of Chicago zip codes.
BiXi Beer
Bixi Beer is a favorite restaurant in Andrew and Hilary's neighborhood. The restaurant has Chinese and Vietnamese fusion food paired with great beer.
Museums
Chicago has many world class museums that are worth a visit, including the Chicago History Museum (our first date!), the Field, Museum, The Art Institute, and the Museum of Science and Industry.
Breweries
Chicago is full of great craft breweries, many of which are found in Andrew and Hilary's neighborhood. These include Revolution Brewery, Maplewood Brewery, and Hopewell Brewery.
Coffee
Chicago neighborhoods have great coffee shops! Some of Andrew and Hilary's favorites include Ipsento 606, Collectivo, Gaslight, and 4 Letter Word.
