On August 21st, 2014, in Farmington, New Mexico, at the New Mexico Special Olympic State Summer Games ….. Meredith was competing in the aquatics competition for the 25 and 50 meter freestyle events. Zack was playing softball for Roswell as he just graduated from ENMU-R. Meredith and her Roswell teammates were playing in the hotel pool when Zack and his roommates joined them. Meredith's softball teammates quickly introduced Meredith to Zack. The next day, Zack's parents drove into the hotel parking lot. Meredith introduced herself to Zack's parents, saying, "Hi, I'm Meredith Murphy, and I'm your son's new girlfriend".... They have been together ever since that day! Four years later in March of 2018, Zack, on bended knee, asked Meredith, in front of both sets of parents, if she would marry him and without hesitation she said YES!! Meredith moved to Pagosa Springs in June of 2018 to settle in her new surroundings. She works as substitute teacher's aid at Seeds of Learning Early Education Center and also works part time at City Market in the floral department. Zack also works at City Market as a courtesy clerk and has been there for two and a half years. Zack and Meredith will continue to make their home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and live happily ever after. ❤️
