Enjoy a walk, bike ride or e-bike ride on this newly developed flat trail that goes from Portsmouth to Seabrook, NH. About 11.6 miles each way with medium difficulty. (You can cut the walk shorter).
A good spot for lots of food choices, especially if you have specific allergies/food intolerances.
Have not been here yet, open at 5pm ish. FFROST SAWYER TAVERN. "The Tavern, with its open hearth Summer Kitchen fireplace, granite walls, and hand-hewn beams, provides a cozy spot for hearty traditional New England fare. The ffrost Sawyer Tavern is a popular dining spot for local guests and travelers."
Enjoy a few different food trucks, beer, alcohol, sometimes live music outside in Durham. It is across from Three Chimneys. Kid and dog-friendly outside. We love going here after a bike ride around Durham, either gravel biking or mountain biking in College Woods. You can also walk/run in College Woods near UNH's Campus in Durham. We also went here after TJ received his Doctorate!!
"Four miles long from Longmarsh Road in Durham to the Great Bay Estuary in Newmarket, the Sweet Trail leads hikers by a remarkable array of upland forests, freshwater wetlands and tidal salt marsh." There are many ways to walk on the sweet trail, you can make it an out and back to make it shorter. Briana would run here all the time during college and TJ in gradschool. TJ is now the volunteer land management over-seeing for part of the Sweet Trail — Keeping our trails clean and protected! We still hike at the Sweet Trail often.
Enjoy "No Tan Lines" tequila, coconut beverage or a non-alcoholic smoothie with a taco bowl across from the beach. Across the way is where we often set up a volleyball net and go surfing. You can park on the street if there is space and walk to the beach, or park at Kooks if sitting down. Wallis Sands Beach is also close by with paid easy parking, or free parking after 5pm ish.
