We Did It! Now let's party!

Alyssa and Adam met for a hike at the Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve, only a couple minutes from where they now live four years later. Adam later said that he was never nervous about first dates, but this one he had a funny feeling that he was about to meet his wife. After their first hike, and their first kiss, the two were elated to continue the date with dinner, to quote Adam's famous line "Take me to your favorite place." After Adam's car ran out of gas and enlisting the help of some friendly Vischer Ferry residents to borrow a gas tank, the two wound up at Mexican Connection in Saratoga, naturally. They shared margaritas, nachos, and belly laughs. Adam kissed Alyssa goodnight that night and every night since has been an adventure.

Adam went to Alyssa's family jeweler and designed her engagement ring two days before the proposal - two days!! - on December 21st. The jeweler asked "Did you want this in time for Christmas?" and Adam replied, "I hadn't really thought about it. I would propose to her today if I had the ring." 36 Hours later, it was ready to be picked up. Adam threw Alyssa off by being grumpy all day, secretly visited Alyssa's Dad to share the good news, and while they were packing to head to New Paltz for Christmas Eve, Adam crouched to the ground to look under their bed. He pulled out a little bright blue box, and pulled up one knee. He had a whole speech planned, but once Alyssa's shock subsided, he was short, sweet, and [very on-brand for Adam] to the point; "Will you marry me?" Alyssa of course croaked out yes behind her happy tears and the two spent the wonderful Christmas holiday surrounded by both of their families celebrating the happy news.
