Chimney Rock State Park
We highly recommend a visit to Chimney Rock State Park! Just outside Asheville, this scenic park offers breathtaking mountain views, hiking trails for all levels, and the iconic 315-foot granite monolith that gives the park its name. It’s one of our favorite day-trip spots and holds special memories for us. We’ve included a photo from our last visit!
The Biltmore Estate
A visit to Biltmore Estate is a must if you have extra time in the area. As America’s largest privately owned home, this historic estate features stunning architecture, beautifully landscaped gardens, a winery, and sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views. It’s a perfect blend of history, elegance, and scenery, and makes for a memorable day trip.
The Blue Ridge Parkway
If you have extra time, this iconic scenic drive offers breathtaking overlooks and easy hiking access. Even a short stretch is worth it for the views. This picture was taken on our first parkway trip!
Downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is one of our favorite spots for a weekend getaway. We love the rooftop bar at The Flat Iron Hotel (featured in the picture!) and always make time for a stop at Wicked Weed Brewing. If you have time to explore, it’s well worth the trip!
