SFO! Lyft & Uber are super easy options.
We recommend booking an Air BnB, possibly with a group, for a true SF experience. We recommend houses in the following neighborhoods: The Mission, Castro, Haight-Ashbury, Hayes Valley. If you prefer a hotel, there are plenty, but they are typically in the more touristy areas of the city. There are also some smaller boutique hotels randomly scattered and hidden throughout (ie. The Parker Guest House, The Metro Hotel). Our address is 1039 Scott street if that helps as a landmark, but no matter where you stay it doesn’t take long to travel in SF - it’s only 7 miles x 7 miles! Avoid: The Tenderloin neighborhood.
September is the beginning of SF’s "Indian Summer." Most parts of the country are gearing up for fall, but the heat is just getting started here. With that said, beware! SF is filled with microclimates and, depending on where you are in the city, you’ll always want extra layers on hand! The fog & breeze will sneak up on you quick. Just ask The Man of Honor, Tom, about his walk through Crissy Field... Think spring-like: pants, short sleeves, & light jacket/sweater.
Lyft & Uber are your easiest options. If you’re feeling adventurous, public transit via bus or train is easy (cash accepted) & a fun way to immerse yourself in the city. Check out Muni.com for fares and routes. Renting bikes (Lyft, Blazing Saddles) or scooters (Bird, Lime) is fun too. And Tara’s favorite, walking! Just ask the Father of the Groom, Chuck...
We love your kids! But we made the tough decision to only allow our nieces & nephews at the wedding. You parents deserve a weekend off!
