They had been going to the same church for 10 years and three years ago Adrian thought of pursuing Mulenga. He had observed her in social settings and was curious of their compatibility. He got no encouragement from her. Their mutual friends often suggested they date, but Mulenga’s answer was always NO! Their friends' final attempt in December 2018 finally got a hesitant yes from Mulenga. She didn't hear from Adrian regarding her response. #ghosted Then two months later he was invited to her birthday party without her knowledge. His plan was to ask to treat her to a birthday dinner. He soon noticed she wasn't in church or at any mutual friend gatherings for him to ask her. Mulenga spent her weekends in Oklahoma caring for her mother who was battling cancer. After her mom passed, he expressed his condolences. He later reached out inquiring about her plans for the weekend. She told him the timeline that her family was in town in hopes he would reach out when they left. He had THE FIRST BREADCRUMB and planned to reach out later but before he could do so, he got a SECOND BREADCRUMB! Mulenga texted him a week after her family left to inquire about his previous text. He told her he was planning to ask her on a spontaneous adventure. Her response: “I like spontaneity and adventure!” On their first date, they instantly knew they were compatible. They had a lot in common and the chemistry was palpable. They traveled to see each other’s families in Canada, Michigan, New York and Oklahoma in their first four months of dating. They were engaged in Maui in January on the beach during a gorgeous sunset surrounded by family. A second proposal a week later involving Kayla and Kieran, showed them that they too were ready for the next step. Mulenga and Adrian are confident that God makes ALL things beautiful in His time and they praise Him for their spontaneous adventure. They cannot wait to become a family of four with their friends and family celebrating with them.
