We recommend taking a visit to St. Augustine Beach while you're here. You can find miles of beach along A1A, and can't go wrong wherever you choose to stop and soak in the sun. Vilano Beach is a few miles North of St. Augustine, and this is where Alex and Gena took their engagement photos!
Great spot for quality coffee and aussie style pies! A few locations all around St. Augustine.
This used to be an ice factory, so a big industrial vibe. The free tour & tasting is very nice or you can try more at their restaurant/bar called The Ice Plant. Everything is made from scratch and the drinks are fantastic. Get the Crab Beignets!
Tons of both local and touristy shops along this road. Warning: free parking is hard to find (but there is a paid garage) + bring your walking shoes. Dessert: The Hyppo, Cousteau's, or Tedi's Coffee: City Perks by the fort or Kookaburra by the basilica Quick bites: Pizza Time for pizza, Burrito Works for the crunchwrap, or Kookaburra for their aussie-style pies Mythical Mountain: we spent about an hour and a half just looking around at all the Funkos and games in this tiny store and wanted to buy everything. There are plaques everywhere designating the historic buildings and their significance, but they are easy to miss if you're not looking for them.
We had so much fun on this course! Alex is absolutely obsessed with mini golf! From their website: “Fiesta Falls Mini Golf is located next to La Fiesta Ocean Inn & Suites on beautiful St. Augustine Beach. This miniature golf course consists of 18 holes, with the average game lasting between 45 minutes to an hour. The course boasts eight waterfalls and a 65-foot ship that guests can play through. Fiesta Falls Mini Golf's gazebo, situated right at the peak of the course, offers a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. Fiesta Falls also offers a more challenging lighted course at night.”
A Jacksonville-based restaurant turned chain! Our favorites are the Squawking Goat and the Five and Dime with Shiitake Mushroom Gravy.
A cute spot to hit up before the ceremony! Open Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm
Wine. Need I say more?
Delicious coffee spot with unique latte flavors - try the coconut!
One of the prominent landmarks of St. Augustine, the fort is a great idea for anyone interested in Spanish colonial history. They have cannon firing and weaponry demonstrations throughout the day during weekends and ranger tours included with admission. You can also be like us and just picnic outside and soak in the views for free.
The Hyppo is a local favorite, specializing in gourmet ice pops in the Spanish paleta style. They have hundreds of rotating flavors, from sweet, to spicy, and even boozy. This was one of the first places Gena introduced Alex to when touring St. Augustine, and it is a necessary visit whenever they are in Downtown.
From their website: Deep in the heart of America's oldest city, a vintage gastropub and lounge has been born. Invoking the spirit of Bartolo, who on this very spot created "Genovar Theater", the social epicenter of Flagler's prohibition era... we offer you an escape into the clandestine, mysterious, and yes, illegal world of flapper dresses, speakeasies, moonshine, and swing. Sashay in and let your senses be seduced. Let chef Bradford's seasonally inspired techniques using local ingredients put the exclamation point on your rendezvous back in time... experience the Prohibition Kitchen. From us: Good selection of drinks and food. Hopefully you catch some live music while you're here.
Over 100 cars in the collection. Check out the batmobile!
