Wedding Party

Meet the Supporting Cast!

Al

Katie's Bestie + Shushbin

Al and Katie have been friends for over a decade, having initially bonded over being movie nerds...and theatre nerds...and...well, just being nerds, I guess. Together, they dominated in Forensics and Scholars' Bowl, saw whatever slop was in theaters, and cried over many a McNugget. They are platonic soulmates who will die on the same day, but they also hope that this wedding makes people stop assuming that they're dating. Al will be in attendance with her actual soulmate and fiancée, Sara. Their furry child, Fig, will regretfully not be in attendance, and will be sorely missed.

Tannim

Katie's Bestie + Shushbin

Tannim and Katie have also been friends for a long time, to the point where Katie isn't quite sure when they first met. Like Al, Tannim and Katie bonded through Scholars' Bowl, where they shared the Good Word of the Pearl S. Book. Tannim and Katie drown Al out during their weekly movie nights (Mediocre Mondays) with Katie's rowdy laugh and Tannim's hysterical giggling. Tannim is a homeowner, a phenomenal home cook, a loving cat dad, and a great friend. His two gray (occasionally demonic) children, Barba and Carisi, will be attending in spirit.

Aaron

Max's Brother + Shushbin

Max and Aaron have been brothers for Max’s whole life. While Max doesn’t remember all of it, Aaron can attest to it being the truth. Funny how that works. Although they haven’t lived in the same home or city for the last ten years, the two always make the time for a quick three-hour phone call to talk about life. As Max’s older brother, –although he says “Max is my younger brother”–Aaron has always been a best friend and mentor for Max, in both life and style, as can be seen in the picture above. Aaron will be accompanying Max today as he makes this next great step in his life, just as he has been for every step that has come before.

Leo

Max's Best Friend + Shushbin

Max and Leo became fast friends when worlds collided, and a bowling alley and hotel were opened in the same building in Iowa City, IA. The two bonded over a shared love of hazing their coworkers, pinball, and a double-raspberry-stoli in a tall lemonade. For four years, Max attended trivia (hosted by Leo) with friends and seldom won first place. The two could be found around Iowa City playing Dungeons & Dragons and searching for a good deal on food and drinks. Last year, Max had the honor of officiating Leo’s wedding to his now wife, Khyla. On this day, Leo is returning the honor by accompanying Max at his wedding to his soon-to-be wife, Katie.
