You can access the reservoir from behind our venue/inn and enjoy a beautiful hike around it. If you brought a car and are coming from elsewhere, you can park for free at the boat launch. (Its a total of 4.6 miles around the whole thing!) We taught Honey to swim here, and have enjoyed a few kayak rides here as well! Picnic tables are just to the left of the parking lot if you want to picnic!
Boston is central to our love story and there is so much history in this city... Sean and I highly recommend this activity for out of state guests. Walking would be a day trip, but you can also take a tour on a trolly or duck boat. The best part is stopping in the North End for some of the best Italian food, or Mike's Pastry for dessert! Here is a list of some tour guide options: https://www.bostonmagazine.com/travel/best-freedom-trail-tours-boston/
A quaint, local turkey farm, right near where Erica grew up from age 11, on. Stop in for lunch or a snack if you want the cute local experience. They have a small selection of baked goods (muffins, brownies, fruit pies) and make sandwiches and dinner plates to go. We love the "thanksgiving" turkey sandwich!
This is one of our favorite places to eat and enjoy a cocktail. It's in nearby Framingham (the city next door to Ashland, where our venue is). We rented our dual music/art studio in Framingham for a couple years and shared many memories there. "Bourbons brings the city atmosphere to the suburbs. Bourbon’s Kitchen & Cocktails is a neighborhood restaurant & lounge that serves quality food with well crafted cocktails in a comfortable and lively atmosphere."
Our favorite hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, near where we live. Its only 10 min from the venue, if you need a breakfast sandwich, pastry or lunch... we confess, we probably helped them stay in business over Covid because we went there so much. You can order online via their website for quick pickup!
