Bride
The star of the show! The one in the white dress! Nicole is the GORGEOUS, smart, successful, energizing, hopefully optimistic, loving future wife of the very proud Garrett Lesher and the daughter to James and Cheryl Dearing. Nicole graduated from Kansas State University in 2017 with her Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management in addition to a minor in Business. She is the property manager, event planner, and marketing director at the beautiful French's Point, the place where Garrett and Nicole are getting married. She is a talented artist with a creative vision for design. She loves puppies, cows, and old 1950's Ford F1 trucks. She also loves spending time with good friends, worshiping God, and laughing until she cries. She can't wait to be married to the guy on the right. -->
Groom
Garrett, I have to say, is a pretty fresh cucumber. He is the firstborn son of Mike and Deana Lesher. He enjoys being a goofball around his closest friends and family, has a sense of humor that others not as close to him don't understand at first, likes playing basketball, watching sports with friends, and also playing video games every now and then too. He seems to know a little about a lot of stuff and not a lot about a few things. He recently completed his undergraduate degree in May of 2017 at Kansas State University with his soon-to-be wife. Somehow, he is currently in his second year of a two year graduate program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga completing his Master's degree in Athletic Training. Oh yeah, and he's pretty excited to marry the cute lady to the left. <--
Matron of Honor
Laura is Nicole's older sister by 7 years. She is the mother of our cute little ring bearer and was married 4 years ago to Stephen Salinas, her high school sweetheart. Laura and Nicole have some amazing memories together... being 7 years older than Nicole, Laura enjoyed lots of older sister games. From shoving 3 pacifiers in Nicole's mouth when she was a toddler, to covering Nicole with toys and getting her stuck in her toy box. But the best memories of them all are the cruises they went on, riding on roller coasters at Disney World, and ample trips down to Boston to eat homemade cookies, enjoy dinner at Al Dente and shop throughout the city. Oh, and speaking of homemade desserts... don't forget to try some of the amazing and beautifully designed cake at the wedding, made by Laura herself!
Best Man
Grant is Garrett's baby brother. Grant is younger than Garrett by 1 year, 10 months, and 24 days. At the time of the wedding, Grant will have just graduated from the University of Central Missouri having completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Congratulations Grant! He has recent experience as a substitute teacher while completing his degree, but does not plan to be a substitute teacher forever. Grant has dreams of performing professionally for large productions in the future such as performing on large cruise ships based out of Sydney, Australia! One of Garrett's favorite memories with grant is when they were both able to play in the youth band and the large service worship band at church so they could play some awesome music together during their high school years.
Bridesmaid
Gracen is Nicole's new sister! (and Garrett's youngest sister... but that relationship is less important) Gracen and Nicole share a love for animals, Gracen's pet bunny "Bean," crafting, doing hair, having sleepovers, and riding horses wearing their cowgirl boots and Miss Me jeans. If you see them together, you might actually mistake them for being sisters by blood! Gracen has a love for her horse and the barn, so much that she wants to pursue a career in agriculture in her near future. Nicole is so thankful to have this beautiful soul to call her younger sister. She is kind, genuine, and wise beyond her years. We are hoping Gracie can make some extra trips to Maine after the wedding to visit her two favorite siblings! Sorry Grant...
Groomsman
Tim is Garrett's oldest younger cousin. Tim recently graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha having completed his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in May of 2018. He is in the process of completing the officer training academy with the Omaha Police Department and will be serving the greater Omaha area after his training is complete. Tim's future career plans include fighting criminals in one form or another as a United States Marshal. One of Garrett's favorite memories with Tim was at the Bill Self Kansas University summer basketball camp. Garrett and Tim honed their basketball skills together and also made time for ridiculous behavior in the dorms during break sessions in Lawrence, KS. There were lots of laughs about silly things then, and nothing has changed for them now.
Bridesmaid
Amanda and Nicole met in Sigma Kappa at Kansas State University. Amanda is finishing her pharmacy program while assisting Nicole with all the details of the wedding! Nicole and Amanda have been talking about their weddings since they met and they are just so excited that some of their plans are finally coming to life! In Kansas, they enjoyed going on double dates to Dirty Dawgs, escaping the sorority by driving through the backyard to go shopping and eat tacos, and spending an occasional weekend going to Amanda's parent's farm to pet the cows! Amanda came to visit Nicole in Maine and try Maine seafood this past June and we are so excited for her to come to Maine again for the wedding!
Groomsman
Cody Shrum is a great friend of Garrett's. Their friendship goes back to Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC) where Cody took Garrett under his wing and invested time in him as a youngster in the youth group. One of Garrett's favorite memories with Cody is when Cody and Garrett, under the team name "Team Garrett", came up just short in the championship game of the EBC 3 on 3 basketball tournament at a large youth event called "D-Now". Garrett is thankful for Cody's guidance and leadership in high school and also at Kansas State University where their paths met for a year during their undergraduate college careers. When they get together after not being in contact for some period of time, laughter, good memories, and encouragement, just like old times, is how they both enjoy each other's company.
Bridesmaid
Nicole can't seem to find many other people in the world to be friends with other than "Hannah's" and this girl is no exception. Hannah and Nicole met in the dinner line at the Derb at Kansas State University as freshman. Hannah thought Nicole was someone else! Luckily for her, she met her partner in crime who woke up at the same exact time as her every morning... just late enough to run down to the Derb in their pajamas, beg the workers to let them in for breakfast, and have the very last egg every single Friday morning. Hannah and Nicole seem to communicate best over brunch. Hannah continued to encourage Nicole's relationship with God throughout college. They enjoy dancing at Dirty Dawgs, Paris/Vanilla tea blends, and talking about life.
Groomsman
Well, if you don't know the person of Connor Philgreen by now, I'm sorry because you're really missing out. He will always keep you entertained with his presence whether he is playing an instrument, singing or dancing along to a song, eating applesauce, being amusingly terrible at shooting hoops with you, or engaging with you in extremely deep conversations. Garrett and Connor mostly just laugh about dumb things when they hang out, but also watch movies, play video games, and talk about the good Lord above. A couple of Garrett's favorite memories with Connor include staying up all night at Connor's house just to see if they could as middle schoolers (maybe it was in HS?), and also jumping in the ice-cold lake behind Connor's house in below freezing temperatures at his birthday party.
Bridesmaid
Alexandra and Nicole were first introduced at Sigma Kappa when their mutual friends were selecting rooms in the sorority house for their Sophomore year at K-State. Alexandra was the bubbliest of the roommates, the one that drank the most coffee, studied the most for her engineering degree, woke up to duck quacking ringtones, and the one that slept the least! Nicole quickly realized that Alex was a friend that was unlike no other. She was always there to offer endless encouragement, cheer Nicole up on the worst of days, and offer her giggly laughter and hugs at any given moment. Alexandra loves to rock red lipstick with her fierce, fiery red hair, play with your hair if you are standing next to her, be your biggest fan, and talk about her endless love for the Lord.
Groomsman
John and Garrett both played basketball together on teams starting in middle school which extended all the way through the end of their senior year of high school. John and Garrett's relationship really began to take off senior year of high school after Garrett had an opportunity to bring John onto team Jesus. During the summer of 2015, they were both part of the Emmanuel Baptist Church summer internship program and had a lot of fun times playing video games and watching movies late at night, going on trips with the youth, and growing spiritually that summer. One of Garrett's favorite memories with John is going on a Grand Canyon trip together during spring break of their senior year of high school with Connor Philgreen in which they hiked a canyon trail at night (unprepared).
Ring Bearer
Samuel is Nicole and Garrett's nephew. He came into this world in August of 2017, which was absolutely perfect timing for our wedding! We couldn't be more blessed to have this special little one in our lives. He loves running, walking, dancing, laughing, talking and eating everything in sight. We all know he's going to be the star of the show when he goes down the aisle with the rings! Join him for dinner and dance alongside him and his sweet little dude dance moves. He also loves cake so make sure to share some with him too!
