What Is Spring Formal Attire?

Think Colorful, Bright, Floral, and Elegant! We want our wedding to be a fun excuse to wear your most formal attire. Ladies, this is your time to wear that maxi dress, cocktail dress, or gown you have always wanted to buy or re-wear! And men, suits and ties! But please remember, this is MAINE in MAY. This means..... dress in layers. Bring a shawl, jacket, or sweater. Where Do We Park?

Answer

There is plenty of parking on the property! Just drive straight down Hersey Retreat Road until you see The Retreat House and French's Point's staff will be there to direct you to the right space for you!

Who Do I Contact If I Have Questions?

Are You Having An Open Bar Or Do I Need To Bring Cash?

Answer

Please bring cash if you wish to purchase alcohol at our wedding. Please keep in mind that this is a family affair and we would love for everyone to feel as though they can dance and have fun without it!

Should We Expect Food and Dessert?

Answer

Yes! Bar Harbor Catering Company will be serving a variety of brunch foods throughout the course of the day, and Nicole's sister, Laura, will be making a cake to go along with their ice cream buffet!

Will There Be Dancing?

Answer

Of course! What's a party without dancing? After brunch, we will take a group photo and transition down to the Sail Cloth Tent for Dancing and Dessert! Expect lots of classics, pop, country, and much more!

Are Kids Invited?

We LOVE your kids -- we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night or weekend off! It's time for them to spend some quality time with the in-laws!

Can I Bring a Date?

Answer

Whatever names are on your invitation, is who we have invited. But don't worry, we have made sure you have friends to travel with and stay the weekend with!

Which Airport Is Best For Us To Fly Into?

Answer

The Dearing's live in Bangor and it is a straight 40 minute drive to the venue. So, if you are just staying for the weekend or wedding night, we recommend flying into BGR. Portland is 2 hours away and Boston is 4 hours. If you are planning on staying longer and are renting a car for the weekend, your flight could be cheaper to fly into Boston or Portland.

When Should I Fly In?

Answer

Whenever you want! For those staying at French's Point, please contact Nicole or Garrett to discuss the days that are available. But for the rest of you, stay 1 night or a week! This is your chance to see MAINE and see all the stops along the way!

How Do I Pay For Lodging at French's Point?

Answer

If we have contacted you about staying at French's Point, you can reach out to Nicole's Dad, Jim Dearing, at 207-951-1681. He will be able to assist you with your payment and answer any questions about what all is provided during your stay.

Where Are You Going On Your Honeymoon?

Answer

We are going to the RIU Cancun All Inclusive for our Honeymoon! We leave on Monday, May 20th and come back on Friday, May 24th!
