How we met

9.12.2015

Noah and I met online late in the summer of 2015 when we were just teenagers. Noah loves to give me a hard time, jesting that I left him on read (guilty). But, Noah was persistent-- and thank goodness for that. Eventually, we struck up a conversation about our love for music and began learning more about each other from there. We met in person at a local fundraiser for my high school, and I introduced him to my parents. We performed together for the first time (with him on guitar and me on vocals) before packing up. From there, we went on our first date on historic Main Street in Branson. It was the perfect fall evening. We grabbed coffee and walked hand in hand, admiring the colors of the leaves and enjoying each other's company. Eventually, all the shops closed, and we sat in his car talking until I had to get back home.

The proposal

9.11.2021

A whole lot of life took place in the six years that we spent since becoming official. The thing about marrying your high school sweetheart is that you grow up together. We got to know each other over and over again through every transition that life brought- moving in together, going to college, starting careers... 2021 was a hard year, but a good year. That Spring, Noah graduated from Drury and I would graduate that winter (Go Panthers!). Though I'd been working full time in marketing for several years by then, both of our careers were really just getting started. We'd talked about getting married for years, but knowing we were in it for the long haul, there wasn't a big rush. However, I did amp up the hints in the year leading up to the proposal! As we neared our six-year anniversary, Noah shares that the moment "just felt right." He and his sister, Delaney (whom I lovingly refer to as Laney Loo), took a trip to the jewelers and she helped him find the perfect ring for me. Days later, we celebrated our anniversary and ended the night at a rooftop bar downtown. We toasted to forever before he knelt down and pulled the ring box out of his pocket. To this day, I'm not sure how I didn't see it coming, but he threw me off the scent pretty well. I immediately began crying and said yes- it was the easiest decision of my life. Turns out, Laney Loo was in the bar incognito with her partner, Danny. She snapped some photos and videos, but I was so glad for it to be an intimate affair instead of a big production. Everything about it was perfect, even the moments that didn't go according to his plan. It took us some time to get the ball rolling for the wedding, but we are ecstatic to be nearing the big day. It means so much to us to be able to celebrate the love we've been tending for the better part of a decade now with the people that mean the most to us!
