Our Lady Queen of Angels is a traditional Catholic church belonging to the SSPX or Society of Saint Pius X. The ceremony and mass will be said in the traditional Latin rite. It will be celebrated by a priest of the SSPX (who has received delegation to celebrate the marriage in the Diocese of Venice.) The ceremony and mass together will take about an hour and a half. If you do not feel interested/comfortable/etc attending the ceremony please know that you are still more than welcome at our reception following.
Fort Myers traffic can be an absolute bear. Between that and the fact that we will have nice cozy packed in seating for the ceremony and mass, it would be best to arrive about half an hour before the ceremony to find parking and a seat. I would also recommend eating a good lunch before coming, as the church will be hot and the ceremony long, and our reception will not be starting until after 5pm.
The reception is about 25-30 minutes from our church. It is a shorter drive in good traffic but this is taking into account that it will be a Friday evening in June. Family and bridal party will be taking photos at the church after the ceremony, so the reception will begin at about 5pm.
Out of respect for Our Lord Jesus Christ, His church. and the wishes of the couple, we beg all to appear in Church decent and modest in dress. Ladies, the church asks that shoulders be covered and that slacks, short and low-cut dresses, and other revealing attire not be worn. During the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass it is also asked that women's heads be covered in the church and we will be providing nice (new) lace veils/mantillas for your use!
