Mike and I first met while I was taking a woman's firearms class. I rented a gun from the company and needed some trainings on how to fire it. I was preparing for a career in law enforcement. The Range safety officer that day, whos gun I happened to be using was none other than Mike. Little did he know he was helping his future wife shoot his favorite gun. At the range it was my turn to shoot so I went to load the fire arm and ended up needing assistance. Que Mike, this intimidating, handsome guy helped me finish loading my fire arm, and in fact had to help me several times that day. I assumed he was trying to flirt and yet he didn't make any moves or advances. It wasn't until several days later that our dating profiles matched each other and Mike made his move. The rest is history.
My proposal idea had lots of life forms and change constantly with the development of Covid. However i finally settled on making my proposal on my first race back in the drivers seat June 27th 2020 at Antioch speedway. With the help of the track promoter, his wife, as well as several employees, we made it happen. I spoke to Gabby’s mother Tracie, who I respect greatly, to get her blessing. Boy was I nervous. With a few stern words of protective advisement, she gave her blessing. Trying to hide everything from Gabby was rough. This was the biggest surprise I’ve had to keep, Gabby is not easily fooled. I get to the track. I get the the car ready, and family situated. Gabby is in the appropriate fooled state and the atmosphere was normal race day environment. I convinced Gabby to invite her mom to my first race. I was excited to race for the first time as well as the proposal in front of everyone. I went out for my racing schedule as normal. I had one of the push trucks come pick her up to give her a "front row seat" to racing from the infield. I was already out on the track for the race when the race announcer called me forth for an impromptu interview. During the interview Gabby was escorted to the area where I was interviewing. I said a few choice words to Gabby when technical difficulties didn’t capture anything but I got down on one knee and proposed. with her glowing she said Yes! The rest is History!
