Have a soak at one of our favorite destinations in the natural geothermal hot springs at Mount Princeton Hot Springs! They offer four different hot pools of different temperatures and the unique experience of the hot springs in the Chalk Creek - be sure to check out the tasty on-site cuisine as well. Additionally, the nearby Cottonwood Hot Springs and Charlotte Hot Springs are options that offer a more rustic soaking experience.
With the aspens in full color there won't be a better time to take advantage of the stunning Colorado scenery with a scenic drive to other nearby mountain towns! Cottonwood Pass towards Crested Butte, Monarch Pass towards Gunnison, and Independence Pass towards Aspen (all of which are weather permitting) offer literally breathtaking views of the Collegiate Peaks from the comfort of your car!
Known locally as "The Heart of the Rockies," the Buena Vista area is home to over a dozen 14ers - mountains over 14,000 feet elevation - and millions of acres of protected Wilderness areas and National Forests which we absolutely love! If you want to give your lungs a test put on your hiking boots and hit the trail - feel free to ask us for recommendations!
The Arkansas River Valley and surrounding mountains of Colorado is an amazing area for adventures of all kinds! Home to charming historic towns such as Buena Vista, Leadville, and Salida with outdoor activities ranging from river surfing and rafting, world-class fly fishing, and off-road ghost town tours - there will certainly be something to do for everyone! And you can always head into town to shop for unique local souvenirs such as aquamarine jewelry mined straight from Mount Antero, make an appointment now for your super-comfy Melanzana gear which can only be found in-person Leadville, or wet your whistle in one of the many award-winning breweries and distilleries along the way.
We hope you make the most of your trip for our celebration and to the Rocky Mountains, so if you're making a vacation of it, feel free to get out and explore! Colorado is home to four very unique National Parks (Great Sand Dunes, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Rocky Mountain, and Mesa Verde), ski towns with year-round events and entertainment such as Vail, Aspen, Breckenridge, Telluride, and Steamboat Springs, and obviously the destination cities of Denver and Colorado Springs. You can even easily explore out of state spots like Moab in Utah or Taos and Santa Fe in New Mexico to see more western sights! If you're looking to plan an adventure, feel free to reach out to us - odds are we've been there and it was awesome!
