The Wedding Website of Caleb Akerstrom and Deana Muñoz
Question

Save the weekend?

Answer

Yes! We know many of those attending will be traveling great distances to be with us so we've booked an entire camp in the mountains for the weekend. You'll be able to make reservations through us closer to the date, once booking is open. Cabins are priced differently based on how many beds they have, but range from about $50-$60 per person, per night. To keep things as affordable as possible we've already paid the owners, which allows us to provide all housing at a discount. We'll provide you with links to pay in spring of 2025 once RSVPs are finalized. Check in is at 2 on Friday, June 6 and we have until 11 AM on Sunday the 8th to scamper through the woods, play disc golf, soak in the CO sun while enjoying food on the patio, and anything else we want to do.

Question

How do we get to your wedding?

Answer

If you are not driving to our venue, we suggest you rent a vehicle for your trip. There are many car rental options at DIA, please book in advance as it's a busy airport and they don't always have vehicles available for walk-ins. Those flying in may wish to coordinate with others traveling from their city to carpool as much as possible! Van rentals for larger groups are available at: https://www.masterstransportation.com/denver/airport-van-rental/

Question

How accessible is this mountain camp?

Answer

Very. The parking lot is directly off a paved road and sits at the same elevation as the majority of the lodges. It has ADA cabins for those with mobility or access needs and the owner will be available with a shuttle at all times throughout the weekend to provide rides between levels. There are slight inclines as you traverse the paths between buildings, but everything is well lit and has handrails, nothing yinz can't handle!

Question

"Mountain" Camp?

Answer

Deer Creek Camp is at 9,000+ feet above sea level, and we're so excited to give everyone a taste of CO mountain living. However, for those adjusting to altitude, please be mindful! Bring a reusable water bottle (and keep it full/with you always), sunscreen, and comfy walking-around shoes. Alcohol has a much stronger effect at altitude, so pace yourselves so you can party all weekend! Our bartenders will be handing out water with every new beverage they serve to remind you to please hydrate so yinz don't die-drate!

Question

Will there be food?

Answer

Yes! Deer Creek has a commercial kitchen and we plan to provide a welcome dinner on Friday, brunch for everyone on Saturday, and food throughout the reception on Saturday evening. Each suite has a grill and a fridge, so we recommend picking up some food on the way up to make a lunch and snacks to have on hand.

Question

What about drinks?

Answer

Yes! We'll have some of our favorite CO beers and liquors for Friday's party along with wine. Saturday will have the same options as well as our signature cocktails concocted by our favorite local proprietors, as well as N/A alternatives. You are welcome to stock your cabins with whatever you want to drink.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It will vary from 70-80s during the daytime to 50-60s at night. We recommend bringing warm layers for evenings around the fire pits and hanging out in the cabins. If you plan to venture out and explore, a rain layer is also a good idea. It is hard to know for certain and the weather out here can very wildly from AM to PM, so check the forecast and bring layers and options for all the!

Question

Can I bring a 'plus 1'? What about my kids?

Answer

Kids are included in RSVP counts; parents, there should be spots to indicate whether or not your little ones will be joining us. Invitations addressed to 1 person DO NOT automatically include a plus 1. Those with plus 1s will have the option to add a guest name when RSVP'ing. We have no ability to accommodate extra guests or guests who do not RSVP given the unique and remote location.

Question

Is the venue pet friendly?

Answer

Deer Creek is in a protected natural area, so pets are not allowed on the grounds or in the cabins. If you are bringing a furry friend, see our travel page. There are several great pet friendly options right down the road in town.
