Question

I've never been to an Indian wedding before. What should I expect?

Answer

Indian weddings are truly a grand affair and are known for their majestic celebrations that last for a couple of days. Although each region of India has its specific customs, the general concept is the same – it’ll be a Big Fat Indian Wedding, filled with vibrant colors, music, and plenty of food and dancing. It's a time for families and friends to come together and celebrate the union of two individuals. As a guest, one can simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the festivities.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Sikh and Hindu ceremonies will start at 9:30 am and 9 am respectively. Please refer to the timeline section for information regarding the timing and significance of each event.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Sikh Ceremony- Dress comfortably for the ceremony, whether you choose to wear Indian or Western attire. Remember that you'll be sitting on the ground for the duration of the Sikh ceremony, so make sure your outfit allows for ease of movement. All guest will be required to cover their head throughout the entirety of the wedding and we will be providing head covers if required. Hindu Ceremony- Whether you choose to wear Indian or Western attire, keep in mind the wedding will be outdoors. Bring a pair of sunnies. Reception: Whether you choose to wear Indian or Western attire, make sure you have comfy shoes. We will be dancing throughout the night. Please note that reception is outdoors, please dress accordingly. In addition, guests are certainly not expected to wear Indian attire. We encourage guests to wear outfits that are bright and bold – and don’t be afraid to accessorize.

Can I bring a date/family?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Please refer to the invitation for further details. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to the bride, groom, and respective family members.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is ample parking at the venue and there will be parking attendants to direct the guests. Please keep in mind that will have an open bar.
