We’re getting married!

Jeremy and Katie met in 2014 working together at McDonald's. From the beginning, there was just something about Jeremy that seemed to intrigue Katie. For one, she felt like he could see through her and into her soul. Two, she could be her silly, goofy self around him without him judging her. Three, he didn’t seem to care that she enjoyed being more of a tom boy than a girly girl or that her independence was important to her. He supported all of her decisions and never judged her and brought out the person she truly is. To Katie, Jeremy helped her find and become the best version of herself. For Jeremy, Katie was someone who accepted him for who he was. At the time, Jeremy was pretty insecure about himself, but Katie helped him believe in himself. She helped Jeremy become the best person he could ever be and to not always be so hard on himself. To Jeremy, Katie was his light in his darkness and accepted Jeremy even when he was at his lowest. Jeremy goes to say, “It’s not about those who accept you when you’re at your highest, it’s about those that accept you when you’re at your lowest.” And Katie was and still is the definition of that. Jeremy and Katie’s first date was to the DIA. They looked at art, laughed a lot, talked some and got to really know each other more outside of work. After the DIA, Jeremy took Katie to a Coney Island for food and that was supposed to be the end of their date. However, later that night, they decided to go see a movie together since they had a good time the rest of the day and really wanted to hang out again. The first of many movies they saw was Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Katie and Jeremy grew close and really enjoyed being together. Jeremy made Katie the happiest she had ever been, and Katie made Jeremy the happiest he had ever been. They became best friends. After 4 months of dating on August 28th, 2014, Jeremy asked Katie to be his girlfriend.

Over the 7 years Katie and Jeremy have been together they have gone on many dates, became the greatest of friends, grew in life and in their relationship, supporting one another, and building a home together. On August 4th, 2020, on Katie’s birthday, Jeremy got a cake that said “Happy Birthday And Will You Marry Me?” When Jeremy got home from work, he told Katie to close her eyes so that he can set up the cake and the candles. After, he took Katie over to the cake and told her to open her eyes and then proposed. Katie said “YES!” and “FINALLY!” Now, they are ready for their next chapter in their life together. Looking back, they feel blessed for meeting one another and feel like God worked a miracle for them to be together, and they feel really blessed to have one another.
