All of our favorite food, drinks, and running/hiking haunts in Central Oregon. If you go to any of these suggested spots, we'd love to hear about it!

One of the first places McKenna took Mosi when he first met her family in Bend. Everything is delicious.

McKenna's summer job (her favorite flavor is the vegan lemon sorbet).

Bontà Natural Artisan Gelato

We don't go to Bend without stopping at Sparrow for an Ocean Roll (for Mosi) and latte (for McKenna).

The Sparrow Bakery Northwest

A favorite of locals and tourists alike. Plus, it's downtown so you can get coffee, walk in Drake Park, and fall in love with Bend like everyone else.

The Lemon Tree

If you go to Central Oregon but don't see Smith Rock, you're missing a natural jewel!

Smith Rock State Park

A fan favorite, especially in the summertime.

Crux Fermentation Project

There are a few El Sancho locations because they are just that good! One of McKenna's Mom's favorite spots (she recommends the Sancho Bowl).

El Sancho Taco Shop East

A little spendier, but worth it! McKenna and Mosi like Zydeco for celebratory events and have enjoyed dinner and a cocktail here for their anniversary and new jobs (the carrot cake is also a must).

Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails

There are over 30 miles of paved pedestrian paths to bike and run, with some awesome tunnels and guaranteed wildlife sightings (squirrels count, okay?).

Sunriver

Floating the river is the best! Sunriver handles all of the logistics and Mosi and McKenna recommend a true float, rather than a canoe, kayak, or SUP option.

Sunriver Resort Marina

One of the best breakfast/brunch spots in Central Oregon. Mosi recommends their homemade baked goods, french toast, and anything else that catches your eye — you truly can't go wrong.

McKay Cottage Restaurant

A great spot for local goods and gifts. Mosi and McKenna recommend stopping by Backporch for a drink across the street after you finish shopping.

Newport Avenue Market

We've done many runs along the river, beginning in the Old Mill! There's also shopping, restaurants, and shows at the Hayden Homes Ampitheater.

Old Mill District

Act like a tourist by visiting this gorgeous spot, and sound like a local by pronouncing it correctly (it's Tum-uh-lo).

Tumalo Falls

There are too many to list individually! Sunriver Brewing, 10 Barrel (McKenna's favorite), Deschutes, and Boss Rambler (Mosi's favorite) are some top picks.
